Product Creators - Something To Consider When Picking A Niche

Like a lot of niche affiliate marketers, I had the luxury back when I decided I wanted to become a product creator of being able to choose among many niches I had researched over the years. A lot of us are "jacks of all trades" that way.

I ended up choosing the IM niche, and I want to explain why. While you can certainly make money selling products in lots of niches, IM offers three attractive qualities:
  1. No shortage of new buyers entering the market all the time.
  2. No shortage of serial buyers.
  3. No shortage of affiliates.
If you think about it, there aren't that many niches that offer all three. Add in the fact that there are tons of sub-niches within IM (traffic, article marketing, affiliate marketing, email marketing, site creation, etc. etc. etc.) and it's basically a never-ending cornucopia of income potential.

So to all of you who might be in the process of deciding if you want to make the jump from affiliate marketer to product creator, I think you'd be well advised to factor in those three criteria. It really does make life a lot easier when you have lots of new blood always coming along + plenty of natural repeat buyers + a ready army of affiliates to promote your stuff.

If you can find a niche out there that foots the bill, put the pedal to the metal and GO GO GO! I'm sure there are others beyond IM.

The current situation with the job market is certainly pushing many to explore other sources of income and many are jumping on the internet to try and solve that problem. Of course, there is a fairly steep learning curve when it comes to putting the pieces together to make that income. And that is where experienced IM'ers come into play.

This will certainly be a market I am going to be getting more involved in, in the near future, as I feel I need to give back for what has been given to me.

Just curious, John, how and where have you been getting most of your affiliates to promote your products?

They say IM is a saturated niche . . . But I just see that as meaning there must be lots of buyers.

The IM niche is fun! Plus once you've made some money in the IM niche other niches seem like cake and become much easier to start making money in. Hard work pays off and if you get in the habit of working hard now you'll soon conquer several niches.

    Good Luck

You're absolutely right about those three factors, John. The IM niche has a very high concentration of serial buyers as well as affiliates, making it one of only very few niches out there that makes it incredibly easy for you to transition from affiliate marketing to product creation very smoothly and seamlessly.
