I have 1200 domains what would you do?

I have about 1200 domains left over from a venture and I was contemplating things I could do with them, one hand i was looking at creating tons of epn or amazon blogs and cross linking them and making all kinds of niche sites, then on the other hand thinking about getting an unmetered server and creating tons of proxies with ads with incent offers using glype. Problem is one if I go the blog route I'd need some type of manager for all of them, dealing with 20 blogs in a pain in the ass imagine 1200. Now the proxy thing I'm considering going that route but if you had 1200 domains what methods have you seen or products have you seen that you would say to yourself, self.... yeah thats a good diea I should use the domains for that.

    There is no point to keep them all, just choose few best ones and then take it from there.

    You could probably get some better advice if you list some of the best domains so that we could get better idea of the quality of your domain portfolio.

      Build a BL network, PR sculpt a portion of the domains [at least 300 to 400] and then set up a subscription service like LinkVana, UAW, SEOLinkVine, etc.

        You could just post content on them through automation and use them for backlinks to other sites. With the .info domains could get all sorts of links, perhaps even the sort you would not link to main sites.

        If you link them to .com, .net or .org sites which in turn link to the money site, you'll be safe from possible slaps from G. The only thing they will do is help to increase the PR and the number of links to the main site which in turn will get ranked higher in the SERPs.

        If you want to go big, it is helpful to have your own network so its not all waste of space.

    Write articles, Submit to Ezine. use your .info Domains as redirects. Helps to get around that barrier with Ezine as they do not allow direct linking with CPA offers.

    If you have such number of domains then you can easily dominate google by creating sites and hosting them in different ips then link to you main affiliate site in any niche then start kicking it.i have an idea PM me.

      Set up a private blog network. Do SEO for clients using that network.

      Or...

      Take up the EZA suggestion as given earlier in this thread.

      Or...

      Mix the two above.

      Or...

      Reserve a few domains for your own/affiliate products and do the above with the remaining domains.

      Or...

      If you had bought them for $1, sell them off for $1 also, to mitigate loss. Reinvest that money into something else.

      Or...

      Simply keep the domains for the next 8 months, and then decide whether you want to renew them or let them lapse. At least you save your money by saving time and tension.

      If they are all junk domains then it is best to let them all expire and just cut your losses.

      You have lost little bit of money now but if the renewal time comes your bill would be lot bigger than it was when you registered them initially. For that money you can build few quality sites with quality content on quality domains and you will probably make more money that way and you will have something in value and it is all more manageable.

      Don't bother building sites for them, junk info domains have no value to spend money on building sites.

        More hogwash. A domain isn't junk just because it has a junk name. It can be turned into a useful property no matter what the name, or the tld. A domain is only junk if you make it junk.

    If I were you, I would have built an autoblog on all of them. I know they dont make a lot of money, but even if say each blog makes you $1 per day, thats $1200 per day!

      Choose the good domains and build sites on them. Let the bad domains expire. That's the problem about .info domains they're very cheap that's why some people register domain names that are gibberish. Although there are good websites on .info domains but there is now a common perception that .info domains are junk.

    With 1200 domains there has to be at least a few with decent keyword related names...or I would hope there were anyway.

    On those, build Amazon sites, sprinkle in some Adsense and mix up your affiliate offers that cover physical products that relate to the Amazon product your promoting.

    With the junk sites (by the sounds of it there are plenty) I think I would have to agree with one of the other posters...build you own backlinking structure that would support your decent sites. If these are the majority of what you have then your backlinking base is set...now all you need to do is gradually build your real online realestate (money making sites) and get your links to them for free since you own the other side of it.

    Rinse/repeat until you build to a level of income you desire. It wont happen overnight but you certianly have an asset most don't and you should take advantage of that.


    OR....you could sell me the 1200 sites and I will figure out what to do with them

      I currently own about 1,000 domains and have owned as much as 2,000 at one point in time. I would recommend that you focus on your top ten domains that exactly match major keywords you are targeting.

      I've been doing this for the last three years and the SEO bonus from having an exact-match domain is not to be underestimated!

I have looked at internet marketing for about 2-3 years just can not put it all together and understand what I am doing. Have bought numerous programs and just never get it to work and make any money.     First of all, sorry to hijack this thread. This is slightly off-topic but still kind of related to the main topic. Hope this is not against the rules :-)

    I have a blogging system which can support many hundreds of domains from a single control panel and it also has the ability to feature Amazon products automatically. For each of the domains, one just has to upload the same set of the files to get it working (since all of these run of a single database there is no need to even change the config file). Its still in a rudimentary stage though and the caeveat is that it runs only on a Windows hosting (shared or dedicated).

    I have around 50 to 60 blogs which I manage off this system and all I pay per month is around 50$ for a GoDaddy Virtual Dedicated/Dedicated Server.

    Now my question is, is there a market for this blogging system? Based on feedback am planning to develop it into a full blown blogging system and also club it with a hosting pack for those who prefer it that way.

      Yes there is but there are a couple others out ther elike it already my only question is can you upgrade all teh wordpress blogs from one interface, upload plugins etc?

      Well the quick and easy solution is to park your domains with a company like sedo. There are many companies like this out there. At least for now you would expect to make some revenue from them.

      You could also make a standard one page webpage and add your keywords etc and google adsence with blind hope some lost soul would find it and click a advert lol

    It is not the bandwidth required that is the issue with proxies, it is the server load. If successfully promoted, you will need many more servers.

    Keep the best ones, pimp them, make some wordpress niche sites, maybe autoblogs, integrate amazon/adsense, see how it goes. Dump/sell the rest. There is no need to pay $10 a year for every one of those.

      Why would anyone want to buy them @ $2, when you can just register them new at GoDaddy for $1? :confused:

      (And why would anyone buy asdfasdfas.info even for $1 when they can buy a keyword-optimized one for the same $1? I strongly suspect that the suggestion above of selling them for $1 each to recoup your costs may be flawed ...)

    Make notes and videos of what you do!

    If something unique and remotely successful come out of it, you will have an instant WSO.

    Why would you register a domain like "adsfasdf.info"? Names like this have no value and you need to drop them as soon as you can. Keep any keyword rich domains that can be turned into a money making website. Build sites on them either yourself or outsource.

    I'd guess if you had any decent domains there you would not be asking what to do.

    Read somewhere that someone just got back from Pubcon in Vegas and they were reporting on the upcoming changes.

    Word on the street is that the big G is going to be taking a look at Exact Match Domains in the upcoming months.

    It was discussed that too much importance and weight is being given to these and that some devaluation might be coming.

    Just food for thought. It may happen, it may not. It was discussed.

        Get Cpanel Hosting for each one. If you don't know where to find reseller hosting with WHM and unlimited Cpanel accounts I can look it up for you. The cost is around $30 a month and people wonder what thriftgirl62 means.

        Advertise (free) everywhere and find 1,200 broke folks who wish they had a domain, blog and cpanel hosting but the money ran out too fast. YOU can help over a thousand people make some money without any investment to start. Won't that be fun?

    I don't have 1200 domain names, but I had over 50 recently. It is hard to think about dropping them since they were paid for, but now they are dropping off like dead flies.

    To be honest, it has probably cost me lots of money just by trying to rescue them rather than accepting the loss and starting over.

      True... You paid for it and even getting to start again is one of the answer on this matter.

      Better to start than letting this domain die!

    Are they all info domains? Drop them, otherwise you are just going to pay $10-12 renews for every single one of them.

    If you want to keep them, then you need to find a way to earn at least $1 per month on every single one of them.

    - Parking is not an option, none of them is receiving traffic i guess.
    - Installing wordpress and make it into a autoblog network is going to take time, a lot of time.
    - If you do the autoblog idea, then you can't use adsense since they will block your account before the first month is over (it's a fact). You need to built every single domain up around a CPA product or several, which is going to take even more time.

    My suggestion to you: Drop them all, buy one domain at a time, built it with relevant unique content (just 3-4 pages), do some backlinking, move on to the next domain.

    etc etc etc.

    Dont waste your time on all these info domains, it's not worth it.

    It is easy to look back on it isn't it?

    I started out with the idea of auto-blogging. I was going to build a network of my own sites, if i could only make $5bucks each...a month...blah blah blah...

    I wound up with over 100. I had good names, all dot coms and they had backlinks to them. But that really did not fall into my plan of what 'really' happened.

    I hope this is a lessons o some newer people out there in IM land. Take your time, it does take more of it than it looks like.

    Choose a battle plan and stay focused on it. Take care of one site at a time. DO NOT think you can build up a bunch and 'I'll get traffic later'. Not a good idea.

    I'm still waiting for those domains to get pointed, or he could let me post my users content to some of them and make some adsense money, he could just use a smaller VPS hosting account.

    With my system 1 domain equals 40 blogs so if he just put 10 domains in my network he'd have 400 blogs to earn a few bucks from.

      I bought lot of bricks, they are all very low quality, pretty much total rubbish, what should I do with them?

      Should I build a house? Or should I dump them and get some good quality bricks and build a house then.

    One thing you might think of doing if you still wanted to go the blog route. You could basically make it an auto blog with people who want to get backlinks. Inturn they create the content for your site and you get to profit either through adsense or other affiliate ads and at the same time get to build your self a massive link network.

    - Get yourself a blog management software like FirePow
    - Build Blogs on all those domains
    - Turn them into a private blog network
    - Use them to build links for you...

    If you want any help on building this network and some special instructions to make sure that Google always caches your posts on these sites and doesn't discard them as duplicate content, PM me.

    Lots of ideas.... sell them, load PLR content on them and make money while waiting for them to sell, keep them and load the PLR content on them and make money, make membership sites with any that might be good for that. If the domain isn't making any money and you can't sell it, drop it. Otherwise, I would try to make some money from at least some of them, and I would try to sell some.

    I just thought of something that might work, but it won't work with WP.

    Create a blog and drip feed PLR articles to it. Then park all, or many of the domain names on top.

    I have some Joomla domains that I did this to and the sites are growing in PR together.

    Personally i would break into niches, look to sell off what you could and then drop the rest to rot, i am still to find a .info domain dominating its SERPs but if anyone has any examples and would like to show me...
