Hello. I created my first ebook today and I have graphics that I would like to use for a cover. I created my ebook in Word and then saved as a PDF.

How do I get the graphic cover in the PDF?

Have you actually created the ebook cover? Kevin is right, you will need to add the picture into the Word format and then recompile it to pdf.

If you are looking to create an ebook cover there are so many different ebook cover programs available. I haven't used one for a while so I can't really recommend any. You can often get someone on Warrior forum to create one for you at a reasonable price.

Try saving your ebook design as a JPG or PNG. Then copy your ebook design into your ebook (which I presume is a word doc?) then convert the whole file to PDF!

Ah I guess I don't know how to get the image into Word. I'll try to figure it out.

Does anyone know what size the cover has to be?

These are the instructions for Word 2003. Although
Word 2007 is setup differently you should look for
similar options on the ribbon at the top.

In the menus at the top select Insert. From the
options select Picture and from the submenu select
From file. In the box that opens navigate to where
your ebook graphic is and click Insert button.

The picture will now appear in your Word document.
Double click on it and small squares will appear
around the edge. Drag those squares to get the
      desired size.

    Here's how.

    1) save your image as a jpg, png or whatever
    2) Open word (this is based on Word 2007)
    3) Click Insert
    4) Click Picture
    5) navigate to your picture and select it.
    6) Your picture will now be in word but it wont cover the entire page so wont look like a proper cover.....yet.
    7) Right click on the picture and mouse over "text wrapping" then select "square".
    8) In turn, drag the small white circles at the top, bottom, left and right of the image out to the edges of your word document. This will make the image take up all the white space.
    9) Dont drag the corner white circles as these scale the entire image and keep it in proportion. This wont work unless the height to width ratio is identical to the dimensions of the word document.
    10) Click the icon in the top left
    11) Click "Save As"
    12) Select "PDF"
    13) Enjoy the rest of your day thinking of the time you saved and the new tip you learned :-)
