Hello. Just wondering if I can publish the same article on 2 sites that I own. Both sites are targeting the same keyword phrase, they are:

keywordphrase.org
keywordphrase.net

I will be creating articles and just want to know if it would be ok to publish the same article to both sites or could I create both sites the exact same as I own both of them anyways (maybe just change the theme and layout). Anyway thanks for any help

You are going to confuse search engines with same content. Rather redirect one to another

If you is very important that your site ranks well in Google then avoid Duplicate content.
Google duplicate content immediately punished with a lower ranking on the search engine.

Google doesn't 'punish' you so to speak but they will not recognize the 'duplicate' content meaning only one site would get credit for it and show up in the SE.

I wouldn't make them exact mirrors of each other with a different theme. You can use the same content on your sites, but again don't make both sites exact mirrors.

That was fast Thanks guys. if I just have one of the sites redirect to the other would it still be able to rank in search engines as well? Also what domain extension tends to rank better, .org or .net or are they pretty much the same. Thanks again

That is what I would do, as opposed to building two sites. I mean I guess you could get them both ranked, but I would rather spend my time on another site/keyword. Anyway, you will get different opinions but I would personally work on the .org and redirect the .net.

Would it hurt to have the same articles on two different sites if the sites were about the same subject but different areas? For example dallasroofing.com and houstonroofing.com. The article on roofing would fit both and be relevant. So about half of the site would consist of duplicate articles. Wouldn't htis be the same as posting an Ezine article on your site?

Google will only index one of the sites. You may redirect or you could spin the content and have different variations. Another possibility is to use one of the domains as a squeeze page. I'm not sure if you have started a list yet, but if you haven't start building one. Make one of the domains a squeeze page giving something away of great value in exchange for an email address. Once it is set up, focus on driving traffic to it.

      See you at the top!
