Alright guys

I am very sorry to ask a stupid question but I am not sre if this is possible or not..

I have got some videos that have got Private Label Rights to them, however they do not come with the text transcripts...

I am wondering you know like with word there is a program that you can use that allows you when you speak through a microphone to convert what you are saying into text. Is there anything that will allow it do it when you are playing a video on the computer??

Or am I just being stupid??

Yes, there is. It's called Dragon Speak I think? Never used it, but I think that's what it is. You could do this however...Just go to youconvertit.com and convert the video into an audio file. Then send it to a transcription service like castingwords.com or go to odesk.com and hire somone to transcribe it.

I think the dragon speaking software from what I can tell uses a microphone to capture the text. What if the actual video is already on the computer and just using the speakers..... Hope that make sense

Byron, you can just place your microphone in front of your speakers and it should work, or buy a patch cable to hook from your headphone jack directly into the microphone jack.

yes, you may have to put the mic in front of the speaker. I can remember if this tool : TechSmith | Screencast.com, online video sharing, windows voice recognition for byron wells has the option to set it to the internal card or not.

but it's free, will require some time to edit. outsourcing the transcription might end up being a better idea overall though.

Ask all the questions you want, but in the end they will all be answered by just doing it!... Get to work!

You can use software such as Dragon Naturally Speaking, you can also go to oDesk and outsource such a task for a very low price. If you don't know about outsourcing, I would advise you to find out about it and try it, before spending a few hundred bucks on software, not to mention the hours of set up and learning time involved. One thing to remember in this business is that you need to focus on the things that you do really well, and delegate the rest to others that can do them better than you.

    Hey Byron,

It might be easier to send them to a transcription service and have them transcribed, this way, you can spend your valuable time focusing on other areas of your business.

My rates are very competitive at just $.75 per minute and you get proofed transcripts ready to go. It doesn't get any easier than that.

I agree. Don't use software or any other types of programs; if you need such services, hiring someone to do the transcription for you would be a lot easier. I say that because most programs can't recognize the voice right, and will result in a total loss of time.

Voice recognition software requires that you train it to understand the speaker's voice. If you are trying to transcribe audio from PLR videos, you will not be able to train the software properly.

Just follow the advice of others here and get the audio transcribed.

Did the PLR video package include the rights to create a transcription of the video?
