What are Your Thoughts on Ping backs

INTERNET MARKETING

So I will make this short and to the point. This should bring in a lot of useful knowledge. What are your thoughts on pingbacks.

Do you accept pingbacks and link back to the other persons site or do you simply trash it and accept the one way link from them.

I myself normally trash them unless I see that their site is a lower pr then mine. Which should give them a little bit of a boost and help me at the same time. While the higher pr sites I do not accept but trash the pingback because it helps my site more with the oneway link from the higher pr site then it would from a lower pr site.

So what are your thoughts on this. I would like to hear some others thoughts on this.

Google would prefer to find your site through a link, rather than from a ping.

Ping will get you crawled, but your seo value is more if google finds you through the link.

Depends on where it's coming from. If it's legit I have no problem approving it. If it's an obvious attempt to get a backlink I'll trash it.

Yea I always check to see if it is legit before checking to see how powerful their site is. I simply prefer one way links over handing out 10k no follow links a month.Which could also be why I do not aprove many of them. However I only mark the ones that do not link back as spam and simply trash the rest. Plus it can get rather tiresome for me at tiimes. Since one of the services I use post to others blogs so it gets me alot of pingbacks if I made a post to that service.

I analyze the website first if they simply want a backlink, if not then I approve it. Now that you mention about the page rank matters I think I will consider that next time.
