Domain Hosting and IP questions.

Im interested in making a website per niche, for dozens of niches.

Who would you recommend for hosting but have a unique IP per domain.
my main concern would be that the hosting would use the same ip address for all domains, which would be very bad for SEO, or would it?
Of course I don't want to purchase a hosting package per domain that I make, this would be expensive.

I would love input especially from the people who currently do this IM tactic successfully.

Thanks!

    Hi Tallon,

In my experience if you have 20 - 30 sites with shared hosting (host gator or host monster) then there really shouldn't be an issue. But if you are really worried then you can get VPS and change the ip addresses that come with the hosting.

Don't put a lot of sites in the same niche in the same IP.

Use a few shared IPs and put sites of different niches in the same IP. Another set of similar niches (similar to 1st set) deserves a different IP.

Increases chances of both the sites appearing on the same page.

    you have a couple options....

    1. You can get a shared Hosting account that allows unlimited domains on it, but be restricted to the single IP on the class C server. (Cost effective at about $6.99 per month hosting fee)
    2. You could get a VPS (Virtual private server) that comes with 3 unique IP's and allows you to add more for $1.99 each per month + pay a management fee to the host to help keep your server secure. (Expensive - VPS + Management could run you $55.00 a month easy for the smallest package)
    3. You could get a VPS & manage it yourself (Starting as low as $29.99 per month)
    4. You could have 3 unlimited domain shared hosting accounts (that's x3 unique Class C servers) for as low as $21.00 per month (which includes management) & divide your domains across the 3 IP's.
Personally i have 3 shared hosting accounts & divide my domain network across the 3 IP's to save money. It's your call though... Some people say that IP's don't matter and that it's only the domain that algorithms calculate as unique & others say that the algorithms also calculate the website servers IP when valuing backlinks to make sure that it's not a link farm of any type.

I think it's better to be safe than sorry if you can at least afford 3 IP's. Most hosting companies don't allow more than 1 ip unless you get a VPS or DPS, which can get pretty expensive if you don't know how to setup, manage, secure your own servers. They charge extra for that service on top of the normal fee's.

Not sure If I helped much, but it's a starting point for your research.

You don't really need to worry about IPs for your sites unless you a) are building them all the same niche or b) are planning to interlink the sites significantly. If you're just building a bunch of different sites, it shouldn't cause you any problem to get a regular shared hosting account with any reputable hosting company (ie, hostgator).
