Help, I'l lost my wordpress blogs!

Hey warriors,

I need your help.

I've had a top 10 on Google for my affiliate marketing site for more than one year, and one of my techniques is a blog (acting like a propeller) on a sub-folder of my site.

It's not only for this site, but for many of my sites...

Guess what?

I don't have my blog anymore... DISAPEARED!?

Have a look: WordPress Error

What can I do to solve this?

Here what the 404 error page says:

---------------
Can't select database

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the makemone_wrdp4 database.

* Are you sure it exists?
* On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

If you don't know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.
---------------

I think this is the problem (username_wordpress.), but I am a tech dummy...

What should I do?

Thanks warriors ...

Franck.

Some database configuration may have changed. Ask your host. You can also try to get the latest backup restored if it's really gone.

Check the wp forums. Type in Can't Select Database in the search box, tick Support Forums.

Try and cross reference your mysql database details ie database name, password etc with what is in the wp-config.php file on your site. Use an ftp client to check the php file.

Also your host could be doing maint and the site is down.

    From the WP support forum:
    >>>>
    1. the database is wrong
    2. the database user is wrong
    3. the database user doesn't have privileges for that database.

If you can't solve it, confirm with your host that you are using the correct information.
    >>>>

Have you checked in your hosting control panel to see if the database still exists and is named as it should be.

Have you also checked with your hosting provider to make sure the MySQL server isn't down or whether they have made any changes recently.

Sounds very strange that it just happened like that without any changes being made as far as you're aware.

Check with your IP Host, they may have upgraded their software and it affected your database info. Hopefully, it will only require you to backup your data and reload a fresh copy of wordpress.

    Hope that helps.

Can't select database means you probably need to edit your config file or add your database back in ... If you do not get it fixed by your host send me a PM ...

May have been a hacker playing games with you... Just to prove he can hack your blog.
