Some reasons why some affiliate marketers fail.

Hello to all, there are a lot of reasons why some affiliate marketers fail. Let's analyze a bit.

1. Competition : Some affiliate marketers meet the wall that is competition. Do you think there is only 1 affiliate? Every successful or popular product has an army of affiliates so competition is rough. You are a lucky affiliate marketer if you find products that affiliates don't promote consistently (happened to me once). It also depends on your niche but whatever your niche is, there will be competition.

2. Promoting old products: That's a problem that can hurt...why? Because old products have outdated information, so that's the reason why it doesn't sell. However, some old products still sells a lot but you have to do proper researching.Don't just promote popular products as gravity is an indicator that can be misleading. Low gravity products can also sell well if you promote properly. I surely suggest promoting new products because they have fresh information and are new in the market but again, don't just promote these.

3. Traffic : Some newbie affiliate marketers expect to make big cheques instantly and just give up if they don't. You need traffic to your campaigns and promotions, the more targeted it is, the more sales you will make. I really recommend SEO as the customer uses the search engines to land on your affiliate site or promotions and will just buy it if they find you at the top. Email marketing can also increase conversions, that's for sure.

Those are some of the reasons why most affiliate marketers fail...there are a lot more...

PS: What I suggest to newbie affiliates is to do researching before promoting a product... why? Because there are a lot of crappy products on Clickbank and it's just unethical to waste people time and money. What I often see right now is hypey selletters that promise the big thing but what you get is pure crap. What I suggest is to check reviews on this forum (reviews section) and check on Imreportcard.com, where you can see comments of people who have used the products. You won't just get to read biased reviews or reviews of affiliates that haven't used the product but just do it to get sales. Believe me, there is also a lot of quality products but a lot of scams as well! Don't expect to make big money online quickly, making money online is a slow process like any business.

I agree Clickbank is pushing some crappy products lately in the Internet marketing niche.

It would be nice if they started publishing refund rates on products to make the vendors produce top notch products we can be proud to promote.

    Good post!

I would like to add some more reasons why affiliates fail:

    1. Investments. some affiliates don't realize that they need to invest into their online business. Either it is money or their time. It is almost impossible to succeed in internet marketing if you don't invest.

    2. Testing. You always need to test what products are promoted better and make you more income. As well as the ways to promote them. Only by testing you can find the best approach and products to promote.

    3. Learn. Don't think that reading some articles about affiliate marketing and participating in Forums, you will become a pro in affiliate marketing. Leaning is also about getting your own experience. It may take you a year or more to learn and start making money from your online busines.

    Good luck!

I think that the biggest reason that affiliate marketers and any online marketer fails is because they FAIL TO TAKE ACTION.

Yeah, you can get into details, but at the end of the day, it is this reason that drives information products in the big three niches.

I agree with the crap products out there. Yes, Clickbank should put a list of refund percentage. I failed before due to the combo of bad product and lack of traffic. So keep learning your lesson.

    Good reviews guys.

I think one of the big problems with ClickBank is the fact that they push products out of the marketplace if they don't get a sale for a while. That means that there are a ton of fantastic products out there that you can't find to promote. I put out an incredible product on ClickBank in an area where I had a ton of expertise, and no one promoted it and it fell out of the marketplace. I had to sell it, because I didn't have time to promote it myself. Then the buyer got no sales, and I think they've shut the site down completely.

It was a shame, because the product was extremely in-depth and very high-quality, but the only thing people were looking for was gravity, which I couldn't get because no one would promote it.

If you want quality, you need to start looking beyond gravity. Ask people for samples of products before you promote them. If you can prove you're a serious affiliate, many product owners will give you a review copy.

    1.Lack of traffic
2.Picking an offer and not a market
3.Not applying all the great info on WF and the great info avail online
4.Investing in things that do not create immediate ROI/returns. Eg buying useless backlink packages that are floating around everywhere. I say useless because the links are not context based, they do not use MDKW etc.

I find the whole Internet Marketing environment interesting. You have people that understand anyone wanting to make money online has to develop marketing skills. Plain and simple, they lure newbies in with the notion that somehow making money online is easy and there is some magic formula, they can sell you and 24 hrs later you're making $1500 per day. I think what causes failure in Affiliate Marketing, newbies expect to get rich overnight. They never take the first steps to learn the business, and learn marketing 101. It's not about traffic, it's not about ClickBank. You can't expect that someone is going to teach you to become their direct competition. This alone opens the door to crappy, hyped up products. Same as MLM sell the dream, sell what people are chasing. Dreams of financial independence.

Affiliate marketing still has lots of juice in it. It saves you from many headaches like processing orders, shipping it and then getting complains from your unsatisfied customers. If you are a good PHP programmer , you can earn a lot with affiliate marketing.
