Do both. But Clickbank is way more lucrative unless you have thousands of visitors a day. Adsense will not come close if you know what your doing affiliate marketing.

But use both, it is best to have different revenue streams online.

If you're looking for a sustainable business plan, diversify and try every option available to you as far as monetization goes. Build different types of websites, do different types of promotions. Always be testing.

However, it truly is beneficial both in the short term & long term to focus on just one thing and let it ride for a while. If you want to become the master of all-things AdSense, do so. Once you feel you've done respectably well with it, move on to something else (Clickbank, CPA, etc...)

Since you appear to be new, I might stick with AdSense to just get the basics down on creating websites and publishing content. Save the squeeze pages and list building for later.

Would creating a website for a certain clickbank product produce good results? Is it worth the time to make a website around just one product from clickbank?

I like Frank's reply to your message but people do make money buy building a web page around a product. I'm not sure Clickbank is the best to do that with though. For those products that doing very well yes but it is probably better suited for Amazon products.

In any case, the product needs to be something people are already searching for.

It can be. I've never done it so I won't tell you "yes or no". However,
I do focus on niches where I can switch out products in case some-
thing happens to a product -- so I look for niches with a good amount
of vendors I could promote.

There ARE people who build entire websites around products and that's
fine, just realize you will have to build many different ones in case any-
thing were to happen to one product making it obsolete.

I choose to focus on ONE site where I am free to switch out and test
products quickly, but that's just a preference.

Indeed. If you (i) choose the right product and (ii) successfully drive the right sort of traffic to (iii) the right sort of site. It's how many people make a full-time living.

I'm biased. I make a living from Clickbank (and from my affiliate marketing skills, of course).

On some very fundamental level, I don't quite understand AdSense - how anyone other than Perez Hilton makes a living from it, I mean. I'd hate to give people a way to leave my sites, rather than staying there, that earns me pennies. But as I said, that's my bias.

I have a little single-product Clickbank site from which I earn well over $60 per sale. I just can't envisage that AdSense would be an asset to me on that site. I think about how many AdSense clicks I'd need (losing all that traffic in the process, of course) to replace just one sale of the Clickbank product.

I wouldn't use both.

I'm a fan of adsense because you don't need to sell or pre-sell people on the idea of buying something.

You get paid just when they click on an ad.
So all you have to do is place your ad blocks strategically.
And get traffic.

But clickbank has it place too,
Both can make you a lot of money
if you stick to it!

I use both, but I concentrate more on ClickBank and Amazon. I make a lot more money per visitor on average from affiliate programs than I do from AdSense. I've found that I'm making a lot less money from AdSense these days, because I'm getting less per click and my CTR has gone down substantially.

If you're into auto blogging, then i reckon adsense is better. Yes, they only gonna make you around $1-$5 a day, but its all about quantity. More blogs with unique niches, and you'll make a nice profit.

I never made anything with AdSense on an autoblog. Isn't it also against their terms to create MFA sites, which autoblogs definitely would be.

I'm choosing adsense.

Create a unique, native, and targeted content with user friendly layout theme and good ads placement. Then do the last thing, promote your website to gain more visitor, also find some quality backlinks to strengthen your position in google

To those who are having difficulty with making money from adsense. The websites you guys are creating for adsense might have a low cost per click keyword. Put on CPC in google's keyword tool and always check how high the CPC (cost per click).

Both are great ways to monetize sites. Often, you can promote a CB product on your adsense site and it will bring you more income. Sure you may lose some clicks but if you sell one CB product a month it should easily make up for the slightly lower CTR.

Adsense is a great part-time income earner if you build several sites and do good on page seo. It's more of a long term thing.

Clickbank can make you quicker money, but you need to spend time finding good products to promote.

People make money with both, so why do either or?

If you're serious about making money online, you should be examining several niches to enter. My advice is pick two niches and test one Adsense only site, and one Clickbank only site.

Typically adsense is harder to earn but is more consistent and can build in the long term.

On the other hand, Clickbank is more of a burst of sales kind of situation where sometimes sites won't make money but other times they make tons. It is more lucrative but also more exposed to systemic risks in the market such as offers getting closed down etc.

Just depends on your entrepreneurial style I guess.

I don't agree with your stance. Adsense is the easiest form of online income. No link cloaking or all those trash associated with clickbank. Just install the adsense code, do a little seo tweaking, write good articles and you are set for life. Have you tried the adsense for domain?

I have. My earnings on Clickbank are several times that of Adsense.

This kind of a statement might be true if not for the simple fact that Adsense CTR is low compared to affiliate products since if you have the right traffic, people should be interested in a product you're selling.

On top of that, there are no leveraged ways to use Adsense outside of a website. You can't do any offline marketing, any list building, or any performance based advertising recruiting affiliates to click on your freaking adsense banners. I mean, it's just adsense.

Sure, it can be great for beginners but overall a bit less lucrative.

Just a lot more possibility with Clickbank. I've heard of tons of CB millionaires yet not a single Adsense millionaire other than the CEO's of Google.

Im supprised to hear so many good reviews about clickbank here.

When I first started using them I was sending a wide variety of products about 800+ clicks a month (total). Yet that would only amount to about 1 or 2 sales within the month. Granted I wasn't doing a good job of preselling them, just putting links on my site, but still. Once more the sales were always made from the same 2 products.

When I went to investigate I noticed almost all of the other vendors where trying to steel my commission by directing them somewhere else, or having a paypal button in addition to a clickbank button, or by advertising their newsletter and getting people to sign up for their newsletters and promoting their product without me.

When 1 of the 2 products that was selling went out of business I decided it was about time to get out and look for money elsewhere. I didn't want to be giving the other 40+ vendors free advertising any more.

Any tips for a newbie affiliate? I haven't done very well in affiliate marketing but want to start. I just don't want to go back to giving everyone free traffic and have them steel whatever commissions I might have made.

4 Amazon 5%

So for me it's Adsense. I think it's easier. Maybe because I know how to monetize with Adsense more than CB?

After thinking about it for a while, I think CB is better. I just haven't got many website with CB then with Adsense.

I've done some calculation on this from my experience.

For example traffic is 9000 visitor
adsense CTR 1%, CPC $1, then you got 9000 * 0.01*1= $90
CB: your sales page to vendor sales page conversion 10%, order conversion 1%, product commision is $28, then you will get 9000*0.1*0.01*28 = $252
Amazon, your sales page to vendor sales page conversion 10%, order conversion 1%, product commision is $8, then you will get 9000*0.1*0.01*28 = $72

So #1 is CB, second Adsense

I prefer clickbank. Adsense only makes you money if you get millions of hits. Its not going to pay anything to every kid with a website.
