google blogger. Easy to use and integrate with Amazon. I tried a few others and this is definitely the best.

Do you plan to buy your own domain and hosting? If so, I would suggest using WordPress. If you want to use a free blog service, then I suggest Blogger because WordPress doesn't like commercial blogs on the free WordPress website.

I suggest your own self-Hosted blog as 1 you have more control and 2 people will take you a lot more seriously if you have your own domain name. I have written a book showing step by step on how to create a good blog if interested?

I recommend you use wordpress, buy a domain and get a shared hosting.

Buying a domain is cheap at godaddy.com just search for a coupon in Google
and you could find discounts mostly 30% off or even get a domain for only $1.

You can get a hosting with hostgator for only $0.01 on the first month
so you have lots of time playing around the server for almost free because
hostgator provides a coupon at HostGator|Hosting Discount Coupon Codes, Hostgator Coupons, Hostgator Bargains, Hostgator Discount Codes, Hostgator Discount Deals . With hostgator,
they have cpanel with fantastico where in you can easily install wordpress
    on your domain(s).

Blogger has actually made some improvements of late, adding some wordpress-esque editing capabilities. But seriously, do you really want to throw your work on a blog another company can delete at any time? It happened to me because I was too lazy to transfer a blog off blogger once it started making money. It was flagged as spam and it took me weeks to have them reinstate it (and apologize to me). Even after they reinstated my blog I make roughly 60% of the revenue that site made before google mistakenly tanked it.

Also, Blogger customer support is nothing short of a really bad joke. You're literally at the mercy of their system and set up - and their timetable.

Definitely go for wordpress and grab your own domain. Hostgator has a baby package that is cheaper than a shot of JD. Also, wordpress is a very intuitive CMS and highly customizable. Even with the new changes at blogger it can't hold a candle to what you can do with wordpress.

It's really all down to personal preference, although personally I love wordpress, it takes some getting used too, but once you've learnt how to use it, then learn some basic bits of programming within wordpress, it's really powerful and can really make websites look amazing.

If this is only a hobby blog - it doesn't matter.

If you are planning to do business (and this forum is for business minded people making or trying to make money online) - then it's a no-brainer:
    - your own domain
    - hosting
    - WordPress

You took the words right out of my mouth, Istvan! If this is just a casual thing, just about any free blog platform will do.

On the other hand, if you want this to become a business and want complete control over your site as it grows, self-hosted Wordpress blogs are probably the quickest way to get started that will also be able to accommodate your needs as you expand.

Definitely in your case, i will choose Wordpress.
Even it's for a personal blog, the same choice remains because Wordpress is a very great blog platform at this time.

    Good luck!

I keep seeing people say...."If you have hosting"....

Dont make it an "IF"...get hosting and put up a WP blog, no question about it.

If you were to make a blogger blog and it started to make money theres a good chance it will get shut down and then youve lost all your hard work. With WP you are in control...not the other way around!

    Good luck!

Yeah if you want your own domain and hosting go with Wordpress.org (the software) if you want to use the free service then use Blogger.

Wordpress are stricter with stuff and might end up deleting your blog.

Wordpress and blogger both are good. But I prefer to blogger, as we can add google analytics, amazon and google adsence in Blogger.
