Will 2011 be a better IM year for you?

Hey Warriors,

I was wondering, do you think 2011 will be a better year for your IM business?

Was 2010 not too good, or was it a pretty good year? Either way, how do you think 2011 will be for you?

Looking forward to your answers.

All the best,
Michael

For the past two years profits have been doubling despite the recession.

I've been targeting niches that contain micro sized groups however they are ultra enthusiasts of the niche and love to spend.

So, I plan on taking on a few more of those this year.

My strategy against Halloween in 2010 worked exceptionally well and I plan on doubling those efforts as well, Halloween alone brought in above the mid range five figures, it was incredible.

I find that attacking trends can really influx traffic and sales, sometimes out doing the evergreen yearly product profits.

In Overall, I think 2011 is going to be a good year for the Internet.

      Michael,

This year has been good to me. Better than the year before that... and the one before that. Etc etc.

I certainly believe next year will be even better and I think if your way of thinking is any different, unless you have some specific reason, I guess you're in the wrong game. (Not you personally Michael, I mean those that think it'll be worse because of the economy or some other out of our control doom and gloom)

As for the recession, all the more reason to work harder, spot the opportunities and get ahead in life. On a positive note the barometer just read 100% of people thought it'd be better, so thats nice but then there's only been 3 of us voting so far.

I voted "no way to know yet"

      Here's why.

First of all, I don't even think about these things. What is, is. I simply
concentrate on my business and the money takes care of itself. It always
      has.

Secondly, I don't even know what I'll be doing next year. I semi retired at
the end of 2008 and then went back full time this year.

For all I know, next year I just might sell all my domains and be done with it.

      Why?

Don't need the money anymore and quite honestly, tired of people who
want $1,000 worth of service for 20 bucks.

I just assume do something with my life next year that doesn't come
with all the BS and nonsense that the IM niche comes with.

      Better year next year?

Might be if I can wake up and just go to the park and feed the pigeons.

This year was phenomenal; 2011 is going to simply kick a$$. In 2010 I had about 75% of my operations out-sourced, by the end of 2011 I will have it at 95% where I get to focus solely on product creation, business growth, and looking more into real estate and stock speculation.

No way to tell - I prefer to go with the flow and there have been a few times when I've almost stopped IM to do other things instead and that may happen next year if something I care about comes along.

I'm only interested in IM as far as I can help people with it - I'm not in IM for the sake of being in IM. Sure it's interesting and it makes good money - but life's short and if a friend or family member needed me I'd be there like a shot, or if someone I knew needed help feeding starving children or building a house for a local displaced family - there are lots of things that could draw me away from IM, so while I think 2011 will be even better - It's not my main focus and I'm not relying on it in any way so I have no way to tell what I'll be focused on next year.

To be honest, one of the biggest things I've found over the years is that I'm much more passionate about helping others with IM than I am doing it for myself - so while I can understand that some people put their entire focus on IM and make it their plan for the future - I just see it as something I do because I enjoy it and if I wasn't using it to help others I probably would just be dabbling out of interest.

But you never know - I did just launch a membership 2 weeks ago and have over 200 members so far and no marketing done yet, and there are big plans for things to come so I may get consumed in IM stuff and do more next year than ever before - it depends which way the wind blows

Very optimistic forum members that we have here

I am one of those optimistic forum members . I just started learning about Internet Marketing in July of this year. I have had several websites before, but I really didn't know anything about marketing or monetization.

I fully believe that 2011 will be a better year for me. I think that I have gained a TON of knowledge since learning about IM. This forum and many products have helped me to understand the world of internet marketing. I have begun to outsource my SEO work and I have already seen a huge improvement in traffic and rankings.

2011 is filled with possibilities. I can't wait to see what the future holds

P.S. I am also planning to launch an IM product at the beginning of next year

    Some great responses so far.

I have to admit I had a reason for asking, and I find the results interesting.

The poll, as of now, breaks down as follows:

    2011 will be better. 91.11%
    2011 will be worse. 0 0%
It will be about the same. 2.22%
No way to know yet, ask me next year. 6.67%

What I was wondering was how many of those 91% actually have a plan, and how many just "know" it will be better? In other words, HOW will they MAKE it better?

The vast majority of people think the future will be better, yet they don't always do the things that will make it better...so, they continually say things like "next year is going to be my year, I just know it."

Granted, that may be true, but are you just hoping, pretty sure and guessing? Or do you have a plan, evidence and momentum?

That being said, it's great to see how many people actually have things in place to make 2011 better. I'm not trying to be mean to those who don't have any plans, but I am trying to encourage them to DO something to make it happen; after all, dreaming about it isn't enough.

It may seem a bit early for this type of post, but it will hopefully give some people the motivation they need to get moving in the right direction. Either way, I truly hope everybody has an AWESOME 2011, and beyond.

    All the best,
    Michael

I think that 2011 will be better, and to answer the follow up, I do have a plan. I actually have schedule of product and service releases planned through the end of 2011.

Now, obviously, the plan is flexible enough to (hopefully) account for unexpected failures and successes, but it does give me an idea of what I need to do to get where I want to go, which is to break $10,000 a month by the end of 2011.

I know 2011 will be better because every year i learn so much, that if i dont use my new knowledge to better my business, then its a crying shame... it really is. Every year an internet marketer should upgrade their business and mindset. Software products constantly replace their older self with a more robust and sophisticated version, and this is the outlook that i follow for my business practices.

      That's true.

So far it's just a shade over 90% saying 2011 will be better. However, wouldn't reality say that such a number is too high? My guess is that, unfortunately, more than 10% will be the same or worse.

I'm not trying to be negative, but find the results interesting. The other thing I wonder is how many people will end up having a worse 2011 BECAUSE they ASSUME it will be better; if you follow.

In other words, because they assume it will be better, they won't do what's needed to make it better, and will therfore end up doing the same things and having the same results, or worse.

These things don't apply to everybody, and a poll like this is far from scientific. My hope is that it will get a few people thinking about HOW they can help make 2011 better than 2010. As I mentioned earlier, I'm really happy with a lot of the answers in this thread. They show that a lot of people have good reason for expecting the best, but that's the Warrior spirit shining through.

I'm a testing and tracking nut so I can guarantee that
2011 will be better than 2010.

Plus, I choose to focus on what I want rather than what
        I don't want.

Anyone who states that 2011 is going to be the same
or worse is sentencing themselves to mediocre results
        in advance.

(Even worse, is stating that in public on a forum).

Expect the best - take heavy action on that idea -
and it's more likely to happen.

If you want to have more - you need to first become

Michael I agree with your point.

Over optimism and the fact we can see the poll as it happens may have led to this (or can people only see after they vote?) Either way I agree 90% is high.

The point in my case is I've got some good plans and I've just taken on a big project that is bringing in almost what I earn a month now on top of what I earned before so I'm finishing the year earning twice as much as I was (if that makes sense?). Granted this may not continue but I do think it will.

I also agree there are unforeseen circumstances (good and bad) that will affect some people. I do find it positive though that the general attitude of the forum who responded believe they will succeed.

One more point, 57 people at the time of writing have responded out of the thousands here. Maybe these are the ones most focused on doing well (and will) and in fact the other x thousand may have a worse year or no year at all?

Who knows. I'm going for it though and good luck to everyone else.

2011 will be better for me, but not financially. Why? because I scaled right down in terms of sites, products and development and invest my time purely in a handful of sites and my mentoring/helpdesk.

So financially poorer in 2011, but also richer in terms of doing what I enjoy and think is worthwhile.

Intent is pretty important, but then again, we all know how the majority of New Year's resolutions go by the wayside. For people that are struggling with following through on their plans, may I suggest finding and seeking out responsible accountability partners that can keep you on track? Or perhaps form a small mastermind of like-minded people who have the same intentions and goals? The energy, enthusiasm and camaraderie that is generated in such groups are contagious, and can really help.

The amount of money that justs keeps flowing into the internet is mind boggling, I think 2011 will be a very good year for me too I have a lot of stuff planned and I hope I can get most of it up before the end of that year. The years seem to go so quick now it's pretty scary!

I sure hope 2011 will be better. Don't get me wrong 2010 was an amazing year for me, but I'm a new person coming into 2011.

I know a lot more than I did one year ago from today. Instead of wondering how I'm going to survive, I have an income that supports me and my business.

I have 6 major product launches planned on schedule for 2011 for each of my 5 niches. That's a total of 30 products coming this next year. That's three times the amount I launched this past year. Some of these are membership sites and recurring payments so that should help boost profits.

I have also been putting a lot of effort to develop a great affiliate program and I have a large list of affiliates who sell my current products. Affiliates are going to be a huge focus for my IM businesses in '11. This will at very least return more money for the total work I put in.

There is a waiting list right now on my marketing consulting services and I start a series of seminars at the end of December '10. I know you said just IM stuff, but these two things will more than likely profit double what my internet marketing businesses will do.

Add whatever ideas pop in my head over the next 12 months and I could have a very promising year. I'm excited about it. That's for sure.

Shouldn't everyone plan on the next year being better than this year? If you don't , you don't have much faith in your business.

I think 2011 will be a good year. Competition is not growing as fast as the market.

Anyone in a position to capitalize on the continually expanding and maturing user base should be able to step up their performance next year. If they want to.

2011 will be my best year by far online, up until recently I have struggled online, but now I am making progress with a great plan in place and some great people making me accountable for my progress, it really is powerful, so that is why 2011 will be better for me and here is hoping it is better for everyone.

I can honestly say that 2011 will be a better year. Not that 2010 was terrible or anything, I just didn't progress with business like I should have but with everything I've learned this year & the things I learn in the future...I can't help but take things to the top now.

I have learned SOOOO much this past year about myself and where I stand in life so I am feeling pretty confident about 2011 and future years.

    Wish everybody else well

    YES YES YES!!!!

I plan on having a much better year in 2011. I now have my PLR store that is gradually growing in size and customer base, so for the first time in a long time I have something that is working and so I am going to keep going with that and making it bigger and better.

I also recently bought Deadbeat Super Affiliate and am determined to make the methods of that system work for me. I am busy working away on my first site and I WILL NOT start any new sites with this system or any other until I have this site where I want it. So far so good, am loving the system and loving my new site and it WILL do well for me in 2011.

    Good luck everyone!

2011 is gonna be downright amazing.

      Am i going to become a multi-millionaire in'11. Nope.
My business model calls for a steady increase in passive income over TIME.

If time is your friend (like it is mine), every year is going to be a more productive one.

Gonna open a cold beer now, to celebrate 2011!

Based on my current results if i continue to work hard and dedicate my self. 2011 can be nothing but greatness. I have a big smile on my face just thinking about. 2010 was a hard year for me.

I losted alot in many areas of my life this year. But i plan to gain it all back times 10. Good luck to everyone on there future goals!

2010 was my first year working online, so I know 2011 will be much better. Now that I'm starting to get a better idea of what I'm doing, things are starting to take shape. I have passive income streams that will continue to make me money in the coming year, plus plans in the works to start 2 new businesses.

2011 will definitely be a better year for me. I wouldn't say I'm new to IM. I do have knowledge about how to start and run an online business. A more accurate statement would be, I'm new to taking action to build my business.

2010 was a very distracting year for me, and I'm definitely going to make sure that I see results from my business in 2011.

2010 is definitely better than 2009, but no where near 2006-8. Although I did make a conscious decision to downsize in 2007. The main problems I had were repeated Google slaps and also the economy.

I voted no way to know yet. I know that it will very likely be a worse year if I keep my present business model entirely. I hope I will be able to make some positive adjustments next year.

As individuals, we can't do much about the global economy, however, we can still build and improve our businesses.

In fact, some of us do better BECAUSE the economy is in tough shape, not in spite of it.

Either way, just hoping 2011 will be better isn't enough. On the other hand, it's better than assuming it will be worse. As mentioned earlier, I find the responses in this thread inspiring.

Yes 2011 will be a better year for me.

I'm going into the bunker building biz

Seriously though, based on the results I have been getting this last year, I can see clearly those areas that need to be trimmed and the points that I can "ramp up" as they say, to increase the income.

My biggest concern is that I don't lose sight of why I do what I do.

    The lifestyle.

I firmly believe that no amount of money can replace time with my family and I don't want to lose that while I start more projects this year.

Basically, the idea is to swap projects from one income to another higher one without losing that family time.

    Hey,

awesome post, and I believe that every
year will be better, because you probably
want to make the commitment to become
better and better, and if you do that,
your next year will be more successful
    and better to.

It´s just a question of your mindset, because
there´s always room for improvement and
    better things.

    All the best,

    Gerald
