Wordpress Help

Hey Warriors,

I am not the best html guy but I have built all my sites and my sales pages and so on but I am having problems with making changes on my Wordpress blog. First off, I can't seem to update or change my templates. Secondly, I have not been able to figure out how to put Adsense and other stuff on there.

I am gunshy to experiment because I don't want to totally ruin anything but need to make changes. Does anyone know of an eBook that can walk me through everything? Perhaps a video series? I haven't checked the search tool here yet and may find something there but I figured I would ask you guys for help too.

    To change themes, first find one you like and download it to your desktop.

    Then you need to ftp it to your wp-content/themes folder.

    Next login to your wordpress admin, click on "design", and you should see your theme listed there. Click on your theme and click activate and your done.

    To add adsense to your blog you can download this free plugin:

    WordPress › All in One Adsense and YPN WordPress Plugins

    Upload it to your wp-content/plugins folder.

    Login to your wordpress admin, go to plugins and activate it.

    Next go to settings and you should see an adsense option. Click on that and enter you adsense ID.

    To upload a template you need an FTP client. I use Filezilla, it's free and powerful.


    Upload the new template to your blog directly in the folder wp-content --> Themes.

    To activate it go to the design tab in your wordpress back end then click on themes, you will see your theme there... just click on it. If you have a newer version of wordpress just click on the activate link in the upper right hand corner of the window that pops up, if it's a few months old it will change automatically.
