What you see is not always what you get

Hey Warriors,

I was just browsing some expiring domain names and ran across a domain which I thought was laws.com. I thought to myself this is a money maker as the site is a pr 6 and very well done. I saw dollar signs as I quickly bought it at an expensive pre expiring price of $24.99. I was quickly calculating how many thousands of dollars I could get when the owners come to me to get it back.

After the purchase my heart was sent plummeting through the floor as I got a better look at what I had bought. It wasn't laws.com but rather lavvs.com. What a let down!

Well, I own something that is apparently worthless but I'm thinking of placing a url shortening script on it since I own it. Can anyone come up with a good acronym using those letters?

lol ... that would have been too good to be true to get laws.com for that price. Ah well, I've wasted my fair share of money on useless domains too.

Pity, one less v and that would have been a great name for an online store selling toilets.

      Thanks Avenuegirl, lesson learned

It seems sometimes we see what we want to see. I guess I'll go back to looking for microsoft.com to expire.

Now if you lived in the UK then I'd say: 'Should have gone to SpecSavers'.

But as you don't, you won't see the amusing side of that statement!

We all mess up from time to time, when purchasing domains. The beauty is that they are generally so inexpensive.

Local AdVertising Virtual Service! (Viral is better than Virtual, but it might scare off the punters).

      Well I try

      Regards,
      Jeff.
