You've probably heard of the method which involves downloading a video from YouTube then editing the video and adding a screen at the end which tells the viewer there is an offer then uploading the video and putting a link to the offer in the description box. Ive heard that this method is white hat.

Ive done this for 8 video's and had 2 conversions so id like to scale it up but my main concern is copyright.

Are the majority of YouTube video's ok to download then upload?

If i did upload a copyrighted video by accident, would i be informed of this so i can remove it before getting into legal trouble?

Am i just overworrying and should i go ahead or am i right to be cautious?

No, the majority of videos are not OK to download and edit. EVERY video on YouTube is copyrighted. Some are used without permission. Some are used with permission. You are almost certainly violating somebody's copyright by doing this.

Definitely not OK. I would not recommend doing this.

William from this forum who is an experienced internet marketer says this method is white hat. Hmm, i'll see what he says.

I've heard of this method, but I wouldn't do it, violating someone else's copyright is wrong and can cause you more trouble than it would ever be worth.

Record yourself playing StarCraft 2 in multiplayer, upload it, get 100,000 views easily that way. Yes it's still copyrighted, but Blizzard doesn't mind since it's advertising their product.

Well I have heard that if some one take a picture through his mobile. It is copyrighted and you are not allowed.
There is a possibility that you approach the uploader and ask for permission to remix the video.

If you just want an introductory video with images and animations.
I would suggest to go to animoto.com and create a fantastic intro. Later you can edit the video in Camtasia or any other video editing SW.
