Whats happened to Podcasts?

For a long time podcasts were the in thing and then came online video and it seems we have not heard about podcasts on this forum for months.

I do a lot of travelling and love podcasts as I can download them and listen on the plane etc.

Do you think podcasts are still relevant and what are your favorite ones?

I just downloaded a video series last week, and it was really nice outside.

The first few videos were talking with slides - so I actually converted them to mp3 so I could go for my walk and listen.

I don't think podcasts are passe.

But I still like Disco - so maybe I'm out of the loop?

I do this ALL the time. Text slideshow videos are pointless IMHO.

I think those text slideshow videos are a really lame way of "enhancing" the product and thus charging higher prices for it...lol.

Well, you know what they say - Video Killed The Radio Star

But on a more serious note, podcasts are still around, and there will always be a portion of people who prefer to learn by audio - so there will always be a market for it.

In fact, I'm seeing a big comeback in interview info products. People are realizing just how useful they are again. (There as a time when the market was saturated with them and they lost a lot of their value - but they're making a comeback now!)

Podcasts are still around, there are many sites out there that provide both video and audio podcasts of their material. It's just not as popular, but there are still many people who consume them.

I love loading several of my favorite podcasts on my mp3 player, and then going on long walks while listening to them. By doing that, I feel it's sort of like killing two birds with one stone, instead of just sitting at the computer and passively watching the video. I suppose I'm trying to say I feel more productive doing this...lol.

I would say that podcasts are still in, just not like before where everyone had one.

I personally like both, I can view video/listen to podcasts during downtime ( eating lunch, on the train etc)

To tell you the truth podcasts and webinars are getting the reputation of being nothing more than "infomercial" sales pitches. The next big thing to come will be _______!
