SEO - Wordpress and keywords

Hey fellow Warriors

I have a quick question here. Using Wordpress's All in one SEO plugin, there is a keyword line where you are suppose to fill in the keywords relevant to the page.

My question is, will it hurt me, if I just make a mega list (or is this what people call meta keywords?) of all the keywords that could possibly be relevant to the whole site, and just use that on every page?

I don't know if it would hurt you but...
    1. meta and mega are 2 different (Greek) words > wikipedia is your friend
    2. having too many keywords is a bad idea
    3. if you want to use the same KWs for every page (which is a nonsense) why do you need the plugin? Stuff your keywords in the header.php and you are done

It is NOT a wordpress related issue. It is a complete misunderstanding of SEO/keywords/basics.

The reason to use all of them, was so I didn't have to write a new list for each pages.

What is a totally misunderstanding of SEO/keywords/basics? (you make no sanes here)

I think that would not be a good idea. I have been using All-in-One SEO plugin. What I have been doing is that I post different keywords in each pages rather than making a mega list. The fact that you have different posts in each page requires another set of good KW. This is only my opinion.

The keywords section in the AIOSEO is the least important section to complete. The title and description are more important as well as good use of Headings in the article.

Having said that, I do use about 2 or 3 keywords for each article - more out of habit that anything. But no more than 2 or 3, and definitely unique keywords for each article, as well as unique title and description tags.

Also, don't confuse keywords with tags. Tags (and categories) are part of your internal filing system and are good for SEO because they help people (and the search engine bots) find their way around your site more easily.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Go ahead. You can dump them all in there if you like. It really will not make much of an impact one way or another. What you should do is get a plugin called headspace. With headspace you can choose keywords for each individual post.

If you wanna make your site to the top you don't wanna do that...too many keywords will make your site stagnant...

Google doesn't cares about meta keywords anymore, but other SE's do, so don't overdo it
