The money is in the list - Yes - but a list is worth MUCH more than that
I'm celebrating my birthday today, and I sent out a message about it to our Danish lists. 2700 people in total. With an offer, surely; a nice offer.
The offer worked, and that's always nice, of course, so once again, I've proven to myself that the money is on the list.
But a list is so much more than that. A list is all the kind mails, I get from people. All the "happy birthday" wishes, I've received today. All the people comforting me, telling me how they are all much older, and that I shouldn't worry. I don't have to grow up
For once, I feel I lack the words to really express my feelings, and to deliver my message to you.
But it's important that you understand that a list is not a cash cow. I hate that expression, btw. A list is several human beings who have decided to give you their name and email, and if you treat them like human beings, the relationship you can obtain is worth much more than mere money.
I've made personal friends with people who started out being on one of my lists. Their friendship has added value to my life.
I'm grateful for that, and I'm so happy to be lucky enough to have discovered all this.
I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed. And the number of times I succeed Is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying.
