REALLY old information?

Has this ever happened to you?
Ok, so I have been receiving some free email thing from this person called Sinela Gherman. This latest Email sent me to this site
This site was last copyrighted in 2006. That doesn't matter much because most of this information is still useful today.
But the thing that got to me was this free video ebook by Louis Allport explaining where to get free video editing software. I think its safe to say that this video ebook is much much older than 2006. The video has to render EACH FRAME and it takes over a second to do so! It looks like this was created on the Windows 98 OS! Has anyone had this problem of receiving stale information?

It sounds like they really need to update their information. I hate outdated stuff.

I didn't look at the site and have no comment about the video. I just wanted to say you can't go by the copyright date as an indication of when content was created or last updated. Just because the date is 2006 doesn't mean all the content is that old. In order to legally update a copyright, substantive creative changes have to be made. You can't just update the date because the year has change or because minor changes were made to the content.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Thats kind of my point. This information was not updated substantially since 2006.

"The Art of War" was written in the 6th Century B.C.

It is as valuable today, as it was when it was written 2600+ years ago...

Never judge a book by its copyright date...

True. So long as you're not talking about anything having to do with the Internet or Web... which is outdated pretty much as soon as it's updated.

This is true for technology, but not basic business and marketing information.
