Market Samurai question

I'm using MS and it does an update almost every time I open it (not every day) So I'm sure it's current.

I was doing a search on marketing training and then after finding phrases that had pretty good traffic numbers I did a competition analysis and it returned no results. So I tried the heaver trafficked phrases to see if it just wasn't working or what. The heaver trafficked phrases returned results like you would expect. So does this mean that the phrases I'm looking at just don't have competition sufficient to register with MS?

Does this mean that the phrase is getting searched 1200 times a day but there are no sites out there capitalizing on the phrase?

Its funny you say that. I was doing a search for a particular phrase in just the UK and in SEO competiton it returned no results but when I did it for the US it gave me the results. Now obviously there is SEO competition for the keyword I was researching in the UK it just kept going back to a blank screen.

I also saw another thread on problems they had today. It's my guess they are just having a minor glitch and it'll be all fixed by morning. If you're really worried, contact there support. Also sorry to p*** on your parade but it's really not likely (impossible even) that a phrase getting 1200 searches a day has no results in Google.

    Best way to check...Google it.

Yeah I thought it was pretty unlikely myself, on the other hand the phrases I was looking at were a little obscure.

If other people are getting the same thing with different software maybe it's something to do with Google.

Other phrases with numbers like 39,000/day showed results for competition like you would expect for those kind of numbers.

I wonder if maybe it's a filter setting or something.

Still not totally conversant with MS.

Yeah, it is quite a learning curve but well worth it. If it's happenning in other software it may be a big G thing. I've just contacted support so when I get an answer I'll post it here. If I'm wrong and the 1200 a day term has no competition, there's room for at least ten and I'll be your best friend!!!

I've been having this problem with MS for several days already myself. I thought it was just me, because I have returned a couple blank screens using another program too. Hopefully this is just a glitch that will be fixed very soon.

Yep, just went on MS's website to report the problem. It shows an open ticket on the problem already. Problem is 2 day old. Says it's an issue with some changes Google has made to the formatting of the data.

Hmmm, that explains somethings. Best just sit back and wait, they're smart dudes there, they'll fix it as they always do.
