... and that makes me feel special! Seriously though, I have 121 followers on Twitter now - Kevin has 1022. I'm 12% as popular as he is - and nowhere near as handsome, talented, or bearded. And my squirrel army is shameful by comparison...

In all seriousness, I used Dana Willhoit's Twitter WSO to build up an account. I had no idea what I was doing, but it sounded interesting so I created an account. In ONE day, I've got 121 followers, and I've already had two people asking about my copywriting services.

If you guys aren't using Twitter yet, you're CRAZY! Go! Do it now! Here, I'll even link... Twitter: What are you doing?

    One thing I don't get about the Twitter thing: what's so great about it if it cuts you off at like 2,000 people?

    It seems like just another mini-list. Nice way to make some extra sales but is there really so much potential with those limits?

    Mike - It doesn't really cut you off at 2000 people... You can follow up to 2000 people UNTIL more than 2000 people are following you - then you can follow as many as you like.

    There is no limit on the number of people who can follow you as far as I know... And besides, these are all people who are on the computer, reading their twitter messages. I think I must have spent 3 hours on there today...

      Actually, the 8% is with the squirrels. They're very upset that I only employ hamsters in my Labs and have surrounded my building. The poor FedEx guy was seriously bruised when they started pelting him with walnuts.

    1. Follow everyone you can find
    2. Cross your fingers, hoping they follow you back
    3. Unfollow those you're not interested in
    4. Rinse and repeat

    And yes, you can follow more than 2000 - I have more than 2700 followers and I think I'm following about 2800 right now.

    I seriously get all my best paying customers from Twitter and most of my Tweets are social, not work related.

    More proof that you can have more than 2000 followers - Twitter grader has their own twitter account, with over 16,800 followers. No, that's not a typo - sixteen thousand, eight hundred.
