RSS Feeds ?

Hi,

Can someone please explain how to actually use RSS feeds to gain backlinks please ?

Do you just submit your main address to feedshark and thats it ?

So i would sumbit "MY-BLOG-ADDRESS.com/feed/" to feedshark once only ?

And submitting this once, does that then send a feed of my whole blog ? or just the latest posts ? or the posts as they are posted ?
So submitting my sites url to feedshark once, would be the last time i had to submit it ?

    You could submit it to various pinging service ... I usually have an automated script that pings every time I have a new post.

    The main benefit of having an rss feed imo is that users can subscribe to it if they find your content interesting; and you could get returned visitors that way

    I guess you should submit it once only as the way feeds work - your new posts are automatically shown up there.

    Plus, there are a LOT more sites than feedshark.

      So you dont have to submit every page of your site, just the main page with /feed/ at the end and then everything is done automatically. All new posts would show up on the feeds ?

      Is this done automatically with wordpress anyway, whenever a new post is submitted ?
      under the writing settings (update services) section ?
