1 mill unique/month, how much could you earn, lets say the site is averagely optimized for adsense
#adsense #million #uniques or month

Depends on what ads are running and how much they pay out.

What is the average pay per click. For my site that get's on average $2 a click, it would be two million dollars a month if every visitor actually clicked an add... do the math.

This depends on the site niche right? What if its entertainment/celebrity. And Do you know what percent of total unique hits actually click the ads, on average?

It is very difficult to answer that as there is lot of things that needs to be taken account.

I do have a feeling that you would like to get more like a general idea what could be possible to earn with 1m visitors to a website.

Applying that number of visitors to our site we could make approximately 7-8 K a month.

$2m / month? Isn't that assuming every visitor clicks? a 100% CTR? What you make depends on your CTR and your CPC. There could be a pretty big range there.

There is no such thing as an overall average when it comes to adsense CTR. Each person and each site has their own average, you'll never figure out your own until you do it yourself.

Assuming a 5% CTR at $1 per click, you would earn $50,000 per month. Of course, it really depends on a lot of different factors so nobody can do anything here except give you assumptions.

Why you ask? Do you really get that many visits to your site? It really depends on the keywords you're targeting. If the keywords are competitive and people bid a lot of money on clicks, you'll make a ton of money. If not, you'll make less. Common sense but there you go.

With that much traffic you could probably make a lot more money using methods other than Adsense. Even selling Ad Space directly.

Enough you would not let anyone know how you are getting that much traffic and you would keep backlinking the site to keep getting more!

By the way, stop dreaming and make it a reality!!!!!!

I'd have to say it better be targeted traffic as well or your CTR won't be that high.

It depends on the niche of the site. Music downloads is like $.10 a click. Stock trading is like up to $4 a click. Then do the math based on 1% CTR.

Way too many factors to calculate anything close to a reasonable answer.

For example, I moved one ad block on one of my sites from the right hand to the left hand side of the page, and I doubled my adsense earnings immediately!!

With that much traffic you can as well get offers from companies to put up ads in your website and you can charge them a handsome amount. Just auction off the ad places and you can make a very big fortune.

Visitor location has a lot to do with it, too. If they're coming from Turkey, the ad quality wont be the same as if they're coming from a Tier 1 country like USA, Canada, UK, etc.

With 1 million pageviews, I expect your article content will be a little diversified in terms of average CPC (or earnings).

The old rule is that you will make in dollars each month, the same as the number of visitors each day. In other words. For each 30 visitors you will average a dollar.

So, you should be making 33.333 dollars with 1 million visitors.

But that rule is a few years old, and the earning potential and CTR is different for each site, and for each niche. Look at your earnings per thousands when you are getting substansial traffic, and you will have a better indicator.

If my blog got 1,000,000 unique visitors per month I would not use Adsense on it, I would sell ad space instead and earn a lot more.Top blogs in the IM niche often sell ad space and there is a good reason for it.
