Hi

Do any of you use and profit through ebay? Particularly does anyone here sell digital products through eBay and how do you get around the fact of sending the product?

Cheers

    Hi,

No getting around it here, we sell our info on CDs that we burn and mail out.
I don't advise messing around there, or your account will be shut down

    Don't go around it.

Burn your ebook or files into cd or dvd and then ship it out.

There is a company that can do this for you at a reasonable price. But I forget what is the company's name.. I will try to recall it..

Is it a good idea, a profitable one? And does this depend on the ebook?

You don't get rich off selling $5 - $10 items, unless you sell boat loads, if that's what you're asking. You need a plan:

Front end products / services, back end items, leads follow up system for long term (online and off), etc. Work your plan and grow it, evolve it...

Run the operations there as a business, best advise I have to share

There are order fulfillment services around that will do the CD burning and shipping for you if you don't mind trading some money vs. your time to do-it-yourself.

dbarnum is quite right, you won't make much money off these cheap items. The idea is to use your package of $5-$10 PLR packs to upsell the buyer into larger, more expensive, packages, membership sites, hosting plans, etc.

I even send physical copies, and bill of sale when I sell a website on ebay now. After they "pay" I send them a form to fill out that spits out their electronic signature and defines what they purchased, what we are providing, etc...

I've won several "charge backs" where they buy your site and try to charge back and keep it - always common on ebay, but it doesn't work with me anymore.

I left egay a while back, are people still making money there, seems more hassle than its worth to me, anyone who is making a killing on ebay must surely be blackhat?

I bought a CD duplicator, and I can easily make, label, and ship a CD product any where in the U.S. for about $1.50. And while the profit margins are not huge, the secret is that most money makers on ebay use ebay not for up front profits - but to get customers onto your list.

It's a little more work than getting people onto your list in other traditional ways - like PPC. But these people on your list from ebay are usually more inclined to purchase. Plus it's cheaper to build your list on ebay. And if you do it right you'll actually make some profit while building your list.
