They actually made me wait like 4 days until an article gets anywhere near the 4th stage of approval and then they figured out I was promoting a product. I didn't even put an affiliate link in there. I used Squidoo as my link to then direct it to my affiliate link. Can anyone inform me why they are denying my article?

Yep EZA got some issues.. My article directory nobody has waited over an hour for approval yet to this date... I actualy had 4 articles approved from EZA that took 4 days to get approved then 2 days later unapproved, reason.. They dont like my site ArticleProductions because it is an article directory. What's really ridiculous now is the constant barrage of posts here whining about EZA. They do what they do, when they do it. Don't want to play their game and reap the benefits, submit your articles elsewhere.

For two years I never had a single problem with EZA. Then my last article took more than a week just to be rejected. I didn't know that they had changed "no self-serving links" in the first 3 paragraphs to "no self-serving links above the fold". I also got rejected because I had two links in the body plus my resource box. Now you can't have more than 2 links total. I can't really complain... it's free, after all. I actually approve of them getting tougher on some of the crap published in there. But the crap still gets published and they give quality articles like mine a rough time! As for promotion... duh? Of course we're using it for promotion but that's natural. They wouldn't have half a site if it wasn't for promotion. The trick is to both produce an informative article that also promotes effectively, preferably in a subtle way. |

I believe it all depends on WHO is reviewing the article...If someone's had a bad day, or is new, they seem to pay more attention to things, and flag more articles that would usually make it through.

So I'm a bit confused here. Everyone seems to agree that they are cleaning things up, and rightfully should. Included in their means of doing this, eliminating self promotion tact seems to be thrown in there. Why on earth would someone right content and build someone else's network if you can't promote something of your own? Has anyone tested the difference between free and paid submissions? In other words, is this part of a ploy to get you to sign up? Meaning, more crap gets accepted when you pay 100 bucks/mo because they are already making extra revenue off of you so they let more things slide. |

I think they are just overwhelmed with submissions and have brought on new people to take up the slack. And like all new people, they are probably erring on the side of caution. I've been having about 1 in 10 articles kicked back to me. I always reply to the stated reasons and explain how they are not accurate and get an approval of the article within a few more days. Its a pain as I'd rather be doing other things with my time but it is what it is right now. I know I would hate having the job of reviewing hundreds of articles every week and trying to decide what is good or not or what might be a violation of one of the many rules over at EA but I think erring on the side of caution isn't all bad for them as it hopefully ensures only the better articles get published. |

It's not self promotion, I actually provided very good information and 3 of the articles had nothing to do with IM at all.. This is why when I built my site I decided no google ads and authors do have the right to add links in the articles and the resource box both.. Just as long as that author owns the product I am perfectly fine with the so-called "self promotion" .. James

It's their upsell tactic... Want free? Wait longer and face possible article rejection. Want to be a paid member? "Here's what you get." They are IM'ers too... Joey |

I have been reading some of the most popular articles there and I see some mistakes in the article, I wonder if English is a second language for some of the reviewers. I have also seen affiliate links in some of these articles. So I'm not surprised some people end up waiting a long time. |

I've personally never had an issue with Ezinearticles. This past Sunday, I submitted an article; Monday morning (sometime before 11) the article was published. It's #1 on Google for the keyword phrase and as of now (noon Tuesday) has been viewed 60 times resulting in 21 clickthrus. Like someone always says in these threads, it's their site and we can either deal with their methods or not benefit from using them. BTW: I'm platinum but not a paid member. |

As for self-promotion, why else would someone write and submit articles? There may be a few who just want to share their views with the world, but most people who do it are trying to sell something or get themselves better known.

I tried them once and my article was rejected because they claimed it wasn't original and I couldn't prove I was the author. Um, it's on MY website with MY copyright and MY name and VERY original. It's not even reprinted anywhere. EzineArticles @replied someone on Twitter saying they would "absolutely" accept original articles that had already been publsihed on another website. I @replied "good luck" and explained my issue, I amazingly got a response from them saying they "would look into it" and nothing. What a surprise. |

I was shocked to find, just last Friday, while I was submitting one of my articles using Socialmarker.com that most of the sites wouldn't accept my eza URL due to "spam" from that domain.

Susan, did you contact them via their site to explain this? I wouldn't use Twitter for support. Maybe someone copied your article on their site, so when EZA checked, they saw that it had been published elsewhere and might have thought it was not really yours. They must have found something similar somewhere to think that. |

It must vary from day to day. My first article took a week to get approved and online. My second one was online within 24 hours. Maybe it depends on their workload. - Russ |

| Yeah this is true, they also have very strict rules about the content they publish to keep the spammers from crumbling their business. I suggest finding other ways to build links faster!

Guys, you've got to see that article marketing has recently blown up majorly. There are tons and tons of people jumping into article marketing every single day. I'm sure with so many new people never bothering to read rules or terms, they probably receive a load of junk articles. I run an article directory, and more than 50% of the articles I receive are complete crap. In order to maintain quality, you sometimes need to tighten things up. Yea, I've had a problem article here and there. It sucks sometimes, but then you simply correct the problem, resubmit, and you're good to go. It's really that simple. Sorry for the rant, but I see these threads often. If you find it really that discouraging that a couple articles got denied for a problem at one article directory, you might not have the patience to withstain any longevity in internet marketing as a whole. That's not ragging on anyone, but it's just a fact. You just need to accept it and move on... |

| Damien, Don't worry about it. You aren't the only one that gets their article rejected. It has happened to people before you and it will continue to happen to people after you. Heck, it even happened to me. They rejected my article because I left my name in the title. But the great thing about the Internet is, that you can submit your articles to other sites. E-zine articles is just a piece of the entire pie. Jeff |

I always play it safe when submitting an article to them - I only do one link to a lens, hub, or one of my sites and that's in the resource box. I've had articles rejected because when mentioning sites like Rentacoder, I was saying "Rentacoder.com" - which I consider to be the site's name, but they consider to be a link. I fix it, resubmit the article, it gets accepted, and I move on with my life. However, it seems they've been rather inconsistent lately. |

I've never really used their services yet. I mainly use Isnare and I'm looking for other services similar to Isnare that just give you so many articles for so many credits. I like it this way instead of paying a monthly fee. From hearing the comments on here I don't believe I will be using EzineArticles however.

I've also found them to be a bit more picky about stuff too. I've been writing like I always do and now my articles seem to "pushy" to them. I am just trying to make a sale, lol. Matt |
