Question: How to set up download of my PDF product/ebook

How or what service can I use to create a secure link where customers and listers can go to download their product, which is a pdf ebook. this is the free version, so there is no payment, through eweber I will be sending them a message with the link inside to grab their free copy.

thanks.

If it's free, I don't worry about securing it. I might use a nonsense URL like yourdomain.com/jh7bbe109/free-report.pdf just to hide it a bit, but I wouldn't go to a lot of trouble with it.

That's just me, though. If you really want to protect it, there are a lot of choices. One I hear talked about (but have never used) is DL Guard.

^^ what she said. Also never give a pdf file - it is very unprofessional (even if many big shots are doing it!). Make it a .zip file and by clicking on its link the download starts immediately.

FYI: Most of the huge PDF files offered as "download" actually will cripple the browsers. Letting to open a PDF file in a browser is NOT download. Download = a compressed - zip or rar type - file.

That's true. Opening even a small PDF in a browser on my poor old laptop makes the whole thing freeze up for several minutes while it downloads.
