125 product link clicks, but still no sales?

I set up a review site for some amazon products a little over two weeks ago. I haven't written any articles yet, but have been getting visitors from bookmarking.

I provide reviews for each item along with star ratings , pros and cons, and customer reviews, but not a sale yet. I was careful to not dog any items with in my cons sections as well.

Does anyone have any advice they could offer me?

There is a direct link to the site above. I'd greatly appreciate any criticism you guys give.

    hi there, that's a good question.

    i just had a look at your site and have to say there's nothing really enticing about it.

    in my amazon product reviews that I create they are all hosted on a blog which looks sharp and very professional, there's images of the products, comprehensive reviews, both negatives and positives included and as informative as possible.

    your site home page just has a few links on the home page and you're inviting them to click on the link to read your reviews.

    i'd recommend a header with images if you can

    i'd recommend pictures of the products at the start of each post

    i'd recommend at the very minimum a comprehensive yet enticing teaser that then links to the review or having the reviews on the home page

    but i'm sorry as far as your review blog goes it just doesn't look professional or genuine enough.

    First of all, you should have the reviews right on that page, blog style... Instead of small text links that lead to the review. It almost looks as though you have to download the reviews, due to the text links.

    Also, 125 clicks on your product offer is not all that much when doing any sort of accurate testing. You should have at least 500-1,000 clicks before you can gauge any sort of average conversion rate, etc.

    Most importantly though, the clicks must be TARGETED. Were they? If you purchase a traffic package from some site that offers 10K visitors for $5 or something like that, don't expect too many conversions. You can have a million clicks to your offer, but if they're not targeted (meaning the people are actually interested in what you're offering) then you won't do too well.

    It does look a bit bland. You've got to sell the dream to people, say what's so amazing about it and why they must have it, otherwise what's the point?

    I don't "do Amazon", myself, so I don't know what the conversion-rate "ought" to be, but beware of judging on small numbers.

    That said, your site really isn't that appealing and attractive. Many people will give the landing page about 5 seconds and move on to something else, I'm afraid.

    Also, and in the long run this may actually be even more important and even more significant, I think you're probably "selling" on this site, really, rather than "pre-selling", and that's the commonest mistake affiliate-sites can make, I'm afraid.

      Yeah, Pre-selling as an affiliate**can** trigger awesome conversions...but you cannot class direct selling as an affiliate...to be a mistake? imo.

      Can't speak for Alexa, but here's what I think ...

      IMO, if you're "outright selling", suddenly what you're saying becomes less of a trustworthy, "unbiased" recommendation that fuels the visitors' desire to buy the product; instead you're just seen as someone who is selling, and looked upon with a little more suspicion.

      Why do you need to sell-sell anyway, when in most cases the site to which you're sending your visitors does that (be it a sales-page, or product page, or whatever).

      If you were looking for a solution to your problems, who'd you trust the most?

      a) The friend who tells you how X product solved his/her problem, and will probably solve yours too. (PRE-SELL)

      - or -

      b) The slick, greasy-haired salesman who's blatantly telling everyone whatever they want to hear, to get the sale, with his hand clawing at your credit card? (SELL)

          If you only got traffic from the bookmarking sites then I am not surprised that you didn't sell anything. You need targeted traffic and you will convert.

          To make money online boils down to 2 things. Targeted Traffic and Conversions. Amazon takes care of the conversions, they are the best in the business. All we need to do is take care of the traffic. Send them targeted traffic and you'll make money.

    You probably should've really had some sales, I think.

    I regularly get a ~9.5% Amazon (UK) conversion on some of my sites, and they're mostly optimised for AdSense. The Amazon links are just flat text links - no banners or anything.
