Hi all,

Just curious.

If you had to start again tomorrow from scratch, knowing what you have learned along the way, where would you start and what would you do differently?

    I would start providing useful e-books,videos and software, and give them away free, for list building purposes.

    1: Keyword Research / Niche Research
    2: Content Creation / Article Writing
    3: Traffic

    Basically, find a product or service that people are looking for. Create content that they will find when they get to your website. Then direct traffic to your content.

      Just got interviewed about that the other day

      For me it would have to be:

      OMG! Build the list build the list build the list !!!

      Grab Market Samurai and watch the dojo videos

      Sign up to Profollow

      Create a few give away ebooks for my niches and squeeeeze

      Sign up to Linkshare and Commission Junction and actually use them :p


      But really... isn't half the fun the mistakes you make on the way?

    start building a list, from driving people to my special squeeze page, the I would be giving these people better info than my competitors.

    When the money starts to come in, pay a few bills and spend the rest on outsourcing traffic. Then watch more money come in.

    Rinse it....repeat it.... the go out on the town and celebrate!!!

    If I had absolutely zero money and needed it fast (which is what happened in real life when I got started) I wouldn't start any differently - I'd start by offering services to build up cash. During this time, you can learn A LOT about marketing simply through what your clients are ordering and the keyword optimization they're asking for etc.

    This is something I would do differently - build my list from day 1. I'd also stick at one thing instead of getting distracted by every new method that came my way.

    In addition to the excellent advice here, I'd define a brand with a unique "big idea" and a distinct personality. Then stick to it, cultivate it, repeat it wherever you go. Could be a personal brand or company brand, depending on what you're marketing.

    I would have purchased more PLR products and went Viral
    back when we all could sell Digital Downloads on eBay.
    Sure some one might chime in and say you still can
    but eBay is not the same as it used to be.
    The small profits and hopes of list building with eBay are not worth it anymore.

    Thankfully there are new Avenues.

    May I know first that what do you really mean by "start again tomorrow from scratch"?

    What I've understood is that you had done it previously and failed and now you want to start it again from scratch. If I've rightly understood what you mean then I would see what went wrong on my previous attempt on IM and making it sure that don't repeat it again.

    Would use the beneficial things from the previous attempt as well.

    I would be hypnotised to concentrate more, my biggest flaw is day dreaming. It's taken me years to master the art!

    of course like many people... build a list rather than thinking that I don't need one (doh!).

    Said by many posters above, but it really boils down to list building with a purpose. Target your subscribers and provide so much quality for FREE before selling anything.

    1. Freelance writing for further investments
    2. Bum marketing to start first marketing commission online
    3. Organic SEO, Search marketing to get better commission and conversion
    4. PPC quicker better and easier way to get commission (requires experience and investment)
    5. Tweak and improve put all the above together and improve

    So if I start from scratch again I could make a $1000 monthly in 2 - 3 months. Hope that helps
