What would YOU do?

So far I am targeting the get out of a speeding ticket niche. I have 4 ad groups so far. It is tedious because I'm making every ad really relevant for the keywords, so I gotta keep making a bunch of ad groups. I let Google to auto bidding. I don't really know much about Adwords expect for the ad grouping part. None of my ads are live yet, they say "eligible" but idk what that means, I assume in time that they will go live.

I know what you are going to say, that I should be building a targeting list. I know how to build a site on a mac with iweb and get it on line so making a landing page and signing up with Aweber and all that is not a problem for me, I can get a site online using iweb/hostgator. I am just not sure exactly how to target my audience and I'm not sure what I want my audience to be. I am interested in self improvement. I also am not sure what to write in the e-mails. I know I must create a give away e-book and they will go to the first e-mail. Then the 2nd email I send..when? 2 days later and with what? An informative article? Another e-book? How do I sneak a promotion in without looking too spammy? - These are the questions I ask myself when thinking about the bigger picture. I am also a little scared of adwords because its a beast but I don't mind burning the $100 Ad Credit I have since its free, but I would love to get it right and make some $ here. If youknow of any good Adwords guides/e-books you think will steer me in the right direction please suggest!

For real, if you were a newbie and had to start over with a $100 Google Adsense Credit, what would YOU do?

First off, would suggest you get a copy of Perry Marshalls book on Adwords. It really is very useful for ppc, but also serves as a great introduction to niches. Just go to Amazon etc. Also would suggest outsourcing via freelancer an ebook as a sign up bonus/ freebie. Assume that you have otherwise planned on how to monetize your niche.
Last bit of advice, not always a great idea to tell people your plans re what you are targeting, some people will just duplicate....

Good luck with your new venture
