Default Peculiarity when using YouTube videos in posts

Have anyone else, like me, experienced this problem?

* You embed a YouTube video in a post and it shows up, like you want it, in a video window in the post.
* For some reason you need to edit the post. Then, when you save your changes, the video window is gone and you're left with just a text link to the video.

I've done some testing and have found what happens. I don't know if it's supposed to be this way or not.

It's like this;

* When you first post, at least when you start a thread, the "Automatically embed media....." check box some way beneath the window where you write your post is checked.
* When you, for some reason, want to edit your post, the check box is unchecked. You don't see it if you're not editing in advanced mode.
* You have to first click the "Go Advanced" button, then recheck the "Automatically embed media....." check box, before you save your changed post. Then you'll keep your video window.

Hope this post will be of some help to someone!

I use a plugin and don't have this problem.

Handy hint though Oscar if you just want to embed one or two videos.

Leanne,

I think you perhaps misunderstood.

This wasn't in WordPress, It was about posts in this forum.

Hey man, make sure you have the "embed all media" thing checked when you re-submit it. If that doesn't work I think you manually have to remove the URL bbcodes from around it each time you edit.

Hi,

One, or perhaps both, of us must concentrate on what we do.

What you tell me to do is exactly what I tried to enlighten everybody else about in my OP.

So, either I must express myself more clearly, or you must read the posts in a more relaxed tempo, or both.
