Making a product question... (I know, it's beatin to death)

Well, I've searched around the forum, reading and reading untill my eyes bled... Well, not that much, so I guess I could of still tried harder... Anyway, I've got a bit of a noobish question that will probably be up to opinion to answer....

I'm thinking of creating an e-book in the health niche, but in a VERY small area of it with only 3 big competitors who have really trash sites (Sorry competitors).

My question is where should I go, or what should I do to get affiliates for my product if I have no money to put out to get on clickbank. I've never created a product so I'm not sure how this is going to work for me.

PS:On a side note, does anyone know where I could get a mentor of some sort for Affiliate marketing and Product Creation? I'm willing to work hard and learn, I'm just having troubles with it all still.

Could try using the 7 day free trial on E-Junkie as a place to list it. And promote it for those 7 days via free services to try and pick up some capital?

Could also do some sales letter experimentation on places like Blogger or a free classified site. Then once you know what works you can build up your own website using what you've learned.

Where is the sales page for this product?

If it is not on it's own site, most will not touch it with a 10 foot pole.

I'm not taking a blogger blog as the main sales page seriously.

My advice is just create the product. If the product begins to make some sales, then begin taking it to the next level and start coming up with a plan to find affiliates.

You're going to run into many obstacles in product creation. The key is to overcome the obstacles no matter what and don't let anything delay your progress...

Thank you all for the help.

I've already found the domain I was planning on using along with a few articles I've written about the product I've been trying to create. I was planning on giving the articles to the affiliates as plr content to promote my ebook.

Also, hosting and a domain I expected to pay for. I already have a couple of websites up generating very little income, barely enough to sustain themselves.

Thank you to all the people for your advice and guidance!

    1. create the product
    2. start a blogger blog on your topic ( while creating your topic)
    3. offer good advice/information on your blog and do all the things a good blog needs to have done to it.
    4. save some money to get your own site up and running. You will need $ for hosting and a domain of your own. $80 or less

5 - come back after you've finished step 3 at least and I might have some more help for you.

Getting affiliates should not be your primary concern at this state in the game.

Affiliates are attracted to products that are ready to be sold now. They also are going to want some assurance of getting paid. This means you really need to consider a system or software that will track their sales for them or pay them out immediately (there are 2 sites I know of that do instant paypal payments) - and either way you need to have funds.

You are going to need a serious online presence before anyone will take you seriously as well - and this means having your own site in place.

I suggest blogger as you will be able to use this blog to direct to your new site in the future - and you can recommend other products in the meantime which you might be able to sell and generate some funds to fund your new business.

    Hi Dustin,

Product creation is the "Golden ticket" in internet marketing, so good for you for going for it. If your product has its own natural value, affiliates will become interested. You've been given some good advice already. As a writer myself, I'd be happy to help you along the way. Feel free to PM me with questions.

    Good luck!

I suggest you take the "rapid prototyping" approach and get an ebook together quickly - one or two days to test and prove the concept.

If it converts, then you know you have a winner and you can take a bit more time to flesh out the product. If it's a dud, well you've only spent a day or two on it instead of months and months like many people do.

As others have mentioned, if you're shy of cash you could sell it with your own marketing efforts and use paypal as your platform, then use your profits to put in on ClickBank.

The key is to test the idea quickly, then commit more time and resources if it looks like a winner.

ccmusicman had a cool post recently telling people why they should build a list in the IM niche.

General gist ... it means you now have a potential list of affiliates ready to promote your product.

Right now I'm in about 5 different niches and I'm sure that most others IM'ers are in several niches so it's well worth considering (with a good long term mindset).

Just remember that quality always wins over quantity. The more time you spend researching and putting the product together, the better chances you will have customers come back for your next offer.
