Which hosting should i choose?

Hi, warriors

I've a hosting with hostmonster but they are not supporting prosper202 and also the domains are pretty expensive $10/yr and privacy for 4.95/yr

Please suggest me good hosting which supports prosper202 with cheap domains?

Thank you all

You may want to try hostgator. They have a wonderful package. As far as domains, try namecheap. Most domains are going to be anywhere in the high $9 to low $10 range. You may be able to find some discounted coupons for domain names online. Do a google search and it should come up. I hope this helps.

Hostgator is a little bit more expensive but I should buy it.

The strange fact is that Bluehost is one of the recommended hosts in prosper.com
      Prosper202 Hosting

But when i contact with the bluehost support they said they're not supporting prosper 202 ...

I've had a lot of problems with Hostgator lately (so will be looking elsewhere if things keep going down hill, perhaps they are having trouble keeping up with demand).

If you pay for the whole year - it's quite cheap with HostGator.

      Hi Kirsty,

What kind of problems are you experiencing with hostgator?

My membership sites are hosted there and over the last couple of weeks everything has been running extremely slow compared to normal.

Don't ever register your domains in the same place that you host, Vasil. It can cause problems and difficulties in the long term (I hope you're not just about to discover this!) and you're always more in control if you do these separately, really.

I recommend Namecheap as a registrar. Good prices and free privacy. And you can "transfer names in" there that you've registered elsewhere and still get free privacy protection.

    I don't know what "prosper202" is so I won't recommend hosting.

    Good luck!

I will go with Hostgator for regular hosting and if you want to sell websites in future then ResellerZoom is the best. I am using ResellerZoom.

are you guys sure that prosper202 can be installed on regular hostgator baby account?

    HostGator
The only way to actually meet the requirements for Prosper202 is to host it on a VPS or dedicated server.

They've changed server-side php permissions twice without telling their customers (this stopped all of my sites from accepting payments and you now need to ask for your sites to be whitelisted if you use particular php scripts) and now hot linking protection is playing up and all of the images on my sites are not showing (I'm still waiting for an answer to my support ticket).

I'm using Bluehost and DreamHost - very very happy with both, and I've burned through a bunch of others that sucked (and are now out of business too).
DreamHost often has a $10 for the year special on Earthday (they claim 100% green, whatever that means ).

do NOT register your domains at a hosting company. That's like having a gardener work on your car (my wife did it - bad idea). Everyone has their specialty, and for hosting co its not domain registration!

namecheap.com for registration. Google name cheap coupon before buying domain names and you'll get a discount almost everytime

like everyone else, i dont mind saving money here and there, but we're talking about where you are going to keep you website assets.

Would you want your vending machines in a "bad" neiborhood or in a "good" neighborhood?

I wouldnt cut corners here. Do yourself a favor and go with Hostgator.
