Are those 20 visits a day from that keyword?

The search volumes google keyword tool gives you are estimates only, and can be WAY off mark at times.

If you're logged into your Google account it might be displaying different results. If you're getting about 20 visitors a day it might not be that far off.

How Much Money is a Top Google Ranking Worth to Your Business?

You're getting only a percentage of the total searches.

Note that the click thrus to the 2nd page falls to 10% and using the same percentages you'd have to be niche with a really high search count to get any significant traffic for anything other than page 1

        A few possibilities:

        1) The search volume estimations provided by Google or your keyword-research tool could simply be wrong. It happens sometimes, unfortunately.

        2) The keyword maybe did get however many searches the tool estimated last month, but that doesn't mean it's going to get the same number this month. Search volume fluctuations occur, and many keywords are seasonal (to varying degrees) or otherwise affected by trends. (A hot news story, for instance, can prompt a ton of people to search for a keyword, which can inflate and distort search volume figures).

        3) Maybe your title and meta description or content-snippet in the SERPs pales in contrast to the appeal of your competitors' - meaning they could be taking more traffic than you even if they're ranked lower.

        4) When a lot of people do keyword research, they assume that just because a keyword is written in English, the United States is necessarily going to be the country of origin for of the vast majority of those searches (due to having a huge population). This is not always the case. Countries with smaller populations than the US can command most search volume if the product, issue or whatever is more popular elsewhere. Not only that, but some English-language keyword searches can originate in a higher number from countries where English is not the native/primary language! You need to know which country's "index" is the one you should rank most highly in. It's not always going to be Google.com / US.

One way to check and verify all this kind of stuff (besides shifting the "country-targetting" of your keyword research tool around between different countries), is to look at Google Trends.

Are you using google analytics? hmmm.. first time I heard that google analytics tool is failing.. Or, I may not know enough.

Yeah, there are many aspects why your site don't get enough visits as you expect it to have.

Try to check your Site title and Site description in the All in One SEO (if you're using wordpress). The title and description that shows up on google results when you search your keyword on google search.. Maybe your title and description aren't that catchy for the searchers to try click on.

Yes, I've been caught out before by Google showing me in the top 10 when it fact it is because I have clicked more than once on my own link so it thinks I must like that site! It's a bit of a classic newbie mistake I'm afraid. It's best to not just log out of Google, but use a proxy like HideMyAss or Scroogle. Only then do you get the real picture, and I am afraid you might be disappointed...

Have you check Google Insights for Search for those specific terms. Last time when you checked adword tool?? Because it happened with me that I purchased a domain on exact keyword match with nearly 2000 visitors per month and now this keyword is no where in adword.
