I just had my two very recent accounts at tumblr suspended, with no warning on contacting support I was advised as follows:

If my memory serves, Tumblr has been that way all along. I think if you just use it to direct traffic to your actual sales page/review page/whatever, you'll be OK. At least that's what I've done and I haven't been kicked off yet.

If it's in their TOS and you did what they claim, you were warned. Before you signed up.

I haven't had in issues with Tumblr. How long have you been using Tumblr? If you just recently signed up, it might be an issue with the type of links you're posting.

Read the TOS of sites like tumblr, typepad, squidoo, hubpages etc carefully. I write some useful howto style info linking back to my blog with anchor text and I never, ever had a problem with any of them. The key is to post USEFUL information, and link back to your blog/web site where you can promote affiliate offers or your own product via sidebar widgets or popups etc.

Most so-called 'mentors' out there are teaching newbies to go post blatantly on web 2.0 sites but never bother to explain how to craft posts that will be well within the TOS limits and never get you banned.

Hi Guys thank you for the feedback. I have signed up to that many places lately I lose track, I have not done anything out of the ordinary and my content is the same throughout, only tumblr have got funny about it. No direct affiliate links. One simply had anchor text pointing to my domain and the other had a link to an LCP, nothing major, all informative and offering free information.
Has me a little perplexed I must admit. All the same it makes me wonder if tumblr are sagging under the weight of subscribers and are kicking people off because there network can handle it.

Her is the same content with another service:
