Do you advocate creating your own products?

For the last couple of months, I have been testing out a few things. I wouldn't call it jumping ship or "going after the next shiny object," but simply testing out what works for me and what doesn't. I have done some Amazon, and have also started a personal blog on a favorite subject of mine - relationship problems and how to overcome them. I actually have an Ebook written about it, and was thinking about going the whole Awebar "get a free chapter - buy the whole book" route ... but I wanted to ask fellow Warriors who create their own products what they think. The whole niche has been beaten to death, and I'm starting to feel like people are extremely skeptical of buying books that offer such advice.

To those warriors who have created their own products or Ebooks, how successful have you been, and if you were to start from scratch, would you still go the same route or would you focus more on promoting products through affiliates?

Relationships is a huge niche and I don't think that it will ever die out. This sort of falls into the mindset that some marketers preach where they use the term "oversaturated". Which is really just a word to scare away new marketers from good markets. Or the marketer saying that really never had success themself.

I'd say that as long as you are unique and you work at it, you'll find some success.

I might be not quite getting the point here but I want to take a different approach to what you're talking about here.

Video content (when done well) converts far better in the 'beating a dead horse' niches than anything else... even if that video content is only a pre-cursor for a book. I don't know if it is possible for you to do that, but if it is I would certainly suggest giving it a try.

Hey how are you? I wanted to add my perspective on this. RELATIONSHIP INFO WILL NEVER DIE!!!! That is an evergreen niche. Relationship problems have always been around and always will be.

I think you should take the approach of starting a list in the relationship niche. Each email that you send out should give just a glimpse of what your book is about. Not to much conent, not to little content, but just enough to intrigue them.

Next you want to have sort of a different little twist to your side of the story. If you take a look at amazon or any major brick and mortar book store, you will see tons and tons of books on relationships. Consumers will always want more knowledge on the subject. Internet marketing and being an entrepreneur sometimes means thinking outside the box.

Here are some suggestions. Take the ebook you wrote and turn it into an audiobook. Ahhh you see the light now. Take that ebook and turn it into a print on demand version, that way people can purchase an actual physical copy of it. Ahhhh I know you see the light now. Okay here is something else. Turn that ebook into the kindle version. Ohhhh Yeah we are cooking now. Guess what my friend, I think apple is coming out with a store (maybe its open already) to cater to the ipad. What does that mean? Turn that ebook into the ipad version.

You see my friend, there is no such thing as a saturated market. Be creative and think outside the box. When you are faced with a road block, don't try to go through it, don't try to go over it, just go around it. It may take a little more time, but you will get to your destination eventually.

I hope this helped and got you pumped up and ready to take action. See you at the top!

P.S. Building a list in the relationship niche will give you a premade list of buyers at hand when you are ready to release a follow ebook. Remember it's easier to sell to a previous buyer than to go market to and convert a new prospect.
