What is use of Proxy setting and how to do it?

I heard about proxy setting or proxy domain setting, something like that. What is that? How to use if for what purpose?

    Proxy servers are normally used when you're trying to get past network security (i.e. firewall) to access blocked/restricted sites although, they can also be used for other purposes. Web proxies are popular in countries where Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc. are blocked. You don't need special configuration done to make web proxy servers work, you simply enter the URL and voila!

      Hi Guys and Gals,

      A legitimate use for proxies is if you live outside the USA and want to research the US market.

      Normally, Google will serve you AdWords relevant to your location. But this is a great disadvantage if you want to see (for example) which AdWords are consistently being shown in the USA version of Google.

      By monitoring these ads over a period of many days, you'll discover which niches are making money and which ad approaches are working, because no one pays for ads unless they are making a profit on their outlay.

      So the way to see Google search results for the USA, when living outside the USA, is to employ a USA based proxy - which will induce Google to serve up USA results, rather than those targeted on your homeland.

      Hello everyone,

      What information is logged when you use a proxy server?

      Let's say I use a proxy from Proxybonanza, and I decide to do some online banking.

      Will my username & password be logged on Proxybonanza's end? And if so, I guess it would be a good idea not to use a proxy when sensitive information needs to be transmitted.
