Hi,

Could someone please explain how i can go about setting up the buy option using paypal please ?

Say i have a wordpress blog , and on that blog wanted to offer a product i have for sale !

How can i setup the blog to automatically take a payment and then send the download link of the product ?

You create your product, and upload it to your hosting in a private folder.

You create a product button in the back end of paypal, which there you can determine where the buyer is sent after paying (this is the download page for your product)

When you create this button in paypal, you will be given some HTML code which you can put on your wordpress blog using the html editor.

  Is there a way to add a code to the product your selling ? Before they download it ?
  ie Like the paypal receipt number or something ?

  When you go to make that button in paypal, you can create the item number or reference there. You can also set a limit or number of that product that is available. So if you are selling bananas, and you only have 6 to sell you can put it in as the product #0001 and limit the number sold, and it will not work after your number of product is sold. You can leave this open as well to sell till the cows come home.

  As an alternative to directly selling from your blog and also worrying about delivery, you may want to think of something like e-junkie.com in the longer run. The delivery etc becomes easier and your product security is henhanced (more difficult to steal). You have to pay a small fee though, so use them only if you start making a decent number of sales maybe. AFAIR there is a free trial for a few days.
