Were You Nervous When You Launched Your First Product?

Since I'm getting ready to launch my first product on WF I'm a bit nervous.

I'm not as much nervous about whether it will sell as all the indicators say "green", but I'm more nervous about not doing something right.

So I'm wondering how all of you faced the first time you launched a product like a WSO?

What happened after the launch? Did you win out or fall on your face and did you pick yourself up and start all over again?

Was it a great learning and earning experience?

Don't worry about it too much that you don't do it, it's more important that you get it out there. Chances are you will make mistakes, but just make sure to fix them right away. If have a problem with a customer, just make sure to take care of them and keep your reputation. For the most part people understand that issues arise, but try and limit the chances of things going wrong. Your reputation is huge on the forum, so keep it as good as possible.

Get feedback from buyers and make adjustments if needed. The WSO forum is a great way to get your product out there and get feedback.

The cool thing about the forum is that when you launch a product and keep your customers happy you are building a buyers list at the same time. Even if you don't have a huge success with it, it is something to build upon. Then when you launch your next product you have a base to start form and a list of happy buyers that can get the ball rolling on the new release. Do it over and over and you are building a larger group of loyal customers.

So, be concerned enough to make sure you keep everyone happy, but make sure to get it out there. Each time it should get easier and easier.

    Good luck with it!

Greg, it was nerve-wracking to say the least. There will always be something you can tweak or improve before you launch your product, but it's truly impossible to get everything right.

The key is to launch it and then make corrections as needed. This is what marketing is all about, there is absolutely no way to predict with absolute accuracy how everything needs to be before you actually release your product. You need to have data and feedback before you can adjust things, so my advice is to just give it your best effort - correct any obvious, glaring faults that you can see before the launch, and then just go for it.

Be prepared to make swift adjustments and corrections once you get some results, and continually monitor your progress. It'll help tremendously if you view it as a journey and a process, instead of a static goal.

It was definitely a fun and rewarding experience for me when I released my first product. It'll get easier the more you do it, and you'll come to really look forward to doing it as well!

    Thanks guys!

I'll be going over what I have with a fine toothed comb and then launch it and roll with whatever punches come my way. I'm waiting on a couple of Warriors to give me a wee bit of a critique but if I don't hear from them in a few hours I'm just going to launch it anyway. I just don't want to piss off the mods or break some rule I may have missed.

don't worry and don't get nervous if you know your product has good quality. You should be thankful if buyers and consumers give you feedback since you will know what they want and by next time you will know how you will approach them.

Yes, and your WSO thread can be a GREAT place to receive feedback that you can use to further develop and improve your product(s) around what your customers/reviewers demand.

Do try to make it as GOOD as possible before you put it "on the market" though. Improve it based on the feedback you receive.

      Thanks Cassie!

Yes, I expect some feedback as there's some article writing to it. I'm not worried about my writing skills though. I'm just concerned with as I mentioned, goofing up the format for the forum and any scammers that show up to buy and refund and other such nonsense.

I was waiting on one Warrior to give me some feedback on my pitch and article writing but I can't wait any longer. Will have to launch by this afternoon. Last thing to consider is whether I should launch as a WSO or just in the classified section.

      Decisions, decisions!

I'm always nervous. The important part is not to let it hold you back. Which I've also been guilty of.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I have to tell myself that there's no such thing as perfect. And not-perfect people just like me manage to successfully do this stuff all of the time, and they no doubt made mistakes too.

I hear you. I'm a perfectionist too when it comes to things but especially to clients and customers!

Yeah I was! But with your first product, just throw it up and see what happens, learn from your mistakes and then create your next one.

Today is just an extra day of anxiety because not only do I have to put up my first product but I have a meeting with a movie company agent that wants to option one of my comic books to a film project. These things happen often and are long drawn out processes. I look for extra income streams so I don't jump at their first offers. The longer I make them wait the more money and demands I can make. That's why I've done IM before and moved to the web.

I needed to hone my IM skills and came to WF. Now it's 1st product launching time!
