INTERNET MARKETING

I know this question is akin to asking "What software to design a website," but what I'm really looking for is strategies: "I create x kind of info graphic with y kind of software"

Use illustrator to draw and photoshop to edit images - I often use both to design a single graphic.

Photoshop and Illustrator are both Adobe products. I use Photoshop for all my images - it's become the industry standard - but it is expensive.

If you are after a free option then the best would be: GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

But it all depends on what you mean by info graphics. If you mean that actual images, then there are plenty of different image editors/creators that you can use. Of course Photoshop and Illustrator are first choice for designers, but there are other cheaper alternatives as well as free ones. Gimp is a free tool which can give great results. Other than Photoshop, I used to use PaintShopPhoto Pro by Corel which is a heck of a lot cheaper than Photoshop.
