Whenever I submit articles to directories Ezine Articles is always my first choice. At the moment I only submit to 2 other directories as well - GoArticles and Amazines. Usually I post the same article to GoArticles a few days later and then some time later I post it to Amazines. I don't always submit them in any particular order but I do keep a good record of what is being submitted and where. One thing I noticed this morning is that some articles are getting better views on Amazines than they are on EA. I didn't check the stats to compare all 3. Maybe when I have time to spare (that's a laugh!) I'll look into it further. My next step is to slightly edit all my articles and resource boxes and submit them to more directories. I haven't got many articles submitted yet but I have got into the habit of letting them trickle through - at least one a day to each of the directories I'm currently using. Anyway, as far as I can see, it makes sense to submit to more than one directory. What are your views on this? Best wishes Mary |

Hi jem I don't remember reading that one before - maybe I'll have to re-think. Mary |

I don't think you need to MASS submit all your articles. If you are on EA that is a GREAT start ... anything else will just be duplicates but if you go with 2-3 directories that is good SEO practice instead of blasting it around the net as duplicate content.

I tend to stick to Ezine Articles for my mainstream promotions. Works out fine.

An article marketing strategy that continues to work for me but is contrary to a lot of the crap they sell in eBooks is ... Focus on one directory (site, magazine, blog) at a time, get 10 unique articles published dripped over a few weeks, then move to the next. Then in each outlet, drip one article or so a month depending on it's traffic value. Each with unique value around your area of expertise. Very often I'll put together 10 articles expanding on different parts of the same topic, set them up to publish in the future, BUT also compile them into a special report for my newsletter readers. Or think of it this way, I write a really long report, then extract 10 articles from it. These 10 articles will be spread over several sites I know drive me traffic, or scheduled over several months on a blog I own, or pitched to managing editors of magazines, or used to test a new outlet. The byline offers the report, or drives to the blog were they can get the report while I capture an e-mail address. As others have mentioned: never broadcast, always unique, value to reader, and look for quality outlets. Does this method work? My network of sites for business-to-business selling professionals floats between 3,484 to 5,391 average unique daily visitors each month (depending on the season.) This is tremendously better that what I got before I was more focused. Best, Justin |

I don't bother mass submitting articles anymore, but I do submit to EA and one or two of the top directories. Seems to work well, although I haven't tested the different methods properly yet.

I don't mass submit - I only use 3 directories - as I said. All I'm saying is that it's interesting to see how I get more views on some sites than I do on others for the same article. I always used to mainly use EA but last week decided to start submitting some on the articles I first published on EA a couple of months ago to GoArticles and just a few to Amazines. Mary |
