Hi Patrick what kind of website would you like to build? Do you have any affiliate you would like to join in mind? I use a amazon associates and some clickbank products on my sites. Also some have adsense but my main focus has been with amazon stores. I have built a nice big network of amazon sites. So I don't mind give you some guide or help if you need. Just send me a pm or msg me on any of the chat programs.

Patrick99 - you are a member of the War Room and there's a free download there for newbie WP users. In fact, probably more than one such offer in the War Room if you look for it.

There are free tutorials on setting up a wordpress site (newbie tutorials) - start searching for info and you'll find them. If you just post for "help" every time you have the most basic questions, you make yourself a target for everyone who has something to sell you.

Look through war room posts - and use the search function to find free, good info on how to build blogs, site builders that are free and paid, etc. When you need answers, be pro-active and look for the information.

Please don't commit yourself to anything too soon. You don't need 'a' website for the sake of it, you need a plan, and you need the website that's right for you, in a niche that's right for you. It won't cost you anything to read around and research for a bit - leaping straight in regardless just because you think you need a website immediately could set you back enough to make the savings you've made on hosting redundant.

There is a WSO with a free wp 3.0 course on it too.

Here are some things you should probably decide before you go crazy and get your site up:

What niche would you like to sell to?
What keywords should you be using to sell in that niche?
What domain name will you get?
What platform/way do you want to build your site on? (IE html, wordpress)
Do you have products lined up to promote? If not, are there plenty of products around in the niche when you are ready?

These are just a couple of things - and eventually you will have to do something. But before you do just anything, decide on some key factors so you can put a loose plan together for yourself and have some direction. This will sustain you much longer in the learning process.

Its best you outsource the work because learning html, css, etc. ain't easy especially if you are new to the game and it does require lots of time ... a lot! But hey if you're a fast learner and can get it down pack then all the best to you.

Congrats on getting the great deal at HG!

A wordpress website is easy to do. You can add it through fantastico with one click.

I would definitely recommend you take a course with step by step instruction instead of trying to piece information together. There are many different types of sites so the kind of course you take will depend on the site you want to build.

You can install wordpress now. Since you are in the Warriorforums I assume you will use that for internet marketing. I believe there is a 5 minute installation guide video on wordpress' homepage.

Use the Theme over at "Headway Themes". It does cost $87 but you can use it for unlimmited websites. It's more than a theme as you can literaly drag&drop and create the website you want (Affiliate Website, Blog, Landing Page etc).

The showcase section can give you an inspiration of what is possible.

    Good luck.

Just because I got 60 domains for free and a dedicated host to play with comped, wouldn't 'force' me to start anything. It's a lil' resource now vs. your future, and this is no different than starting any business.

PS: I just got a reallllly good deal on pencils, what should I draw so it looks good?
I totally agree, he sounds a little desperate to get started, but it also looks like he doesn't have any concrete plan in place. This is the surest path to failure, and building a website just for the sake of building something will not make you money - period.

You have to decide what niche you want to enter, and that means you have to put some thought into domain selection BEFORE you even start building a website. How can you start building a website before knowing this vital piece of information? Other important points to consider include the method(s) of monetization and how to drive traffic to your new site.

If you just want to try buikding a website:
build one for yourself and brand yourself.
Use the Wordpress from your Fantastico.

However a website is just a serving element in a monetarisation strategy.
You will only earn money with your website if you follow a solid plan.
