BEST WAY to monetize unique content?
OK, I'm looking for advice about how to MAXIMIZE my earnings for unique content. For my content, I'm basically rewriting articles. If you're like me, you have probably thousands of articles on your hard drive on hundreds and hundreds of topics. I take one of those articles (or usually a set of them, 4-5) and totally rewrite it in my own words. I don't just replace words here and there and rearrange sentences. I usually read a paragraph and then open up notepad and start writing so the content is 100% unique - usually not even close to the original wording.
So now that I have an article, or a pack of articles, what is the absolute BEST way to monetize that content to get me the best bang for my buck? Here are some ideas, some of which I've done and some not:
- Article/bum marketing: take the article and submit to EzineArticles, GoArticles, SearchWarp, or whatever. Put a link in the resource box back to a site of yours for more info. On that site (be it a full HTML site, a blog, whatever) you can sell an affiliate product either by a quick review, another article, redirect - whatever, so long as they click through and buy.
- Sell the articles: I've packaged them together in an article pack and sold on forums which gets me $5-6 per article depending on the length.
- Article directory: create my own article directory and post them there. I guess you could monetize that site w/ Adsense or sell affiliate products? Dunno.
- Blog/website: create an adsense/seo heavy blog or website with Wordpress and then post the articles as posts and then either do the Adsense thing or maybe work in affiliate products.
- Website flip: create a nice 50-100 page site with the content, use some nice graphics, and try to sell on this or similar forums.
- Pay-for-content: submit to Associated Content or Constant-Content for immediate cash and some adsense income.
There are pluses and minuses for each of these, and some require a LOT more work than others, but if the payout is that much higher it can be justified. I'm looking for probably a mix of instant income and residual, but I'm OK with just using most of my content for residual or long term income and then maybe taking part of it for immediate cash if I need it.
I'm sure there are other ways to monetize - POST YOUR IDEAS! Also, post about which of the above ways are good/bad/easy/hard/profitable/etc.
In the meantime, I'm working to build my database of 100% unique articles. I probably knock out 2-5 articles a day on average and I'm just saving them until I really find something that clicks. Most of the above options I'm not in love with, and I could do any of them. For those of you that say "follow your passion" or whatever, I really don't care that much about any in particular. I can do any or all of them with just as much passion as the rest. I just want income!
