The best one by FAR is Cover Action ... which is the software I use for all my products now. You simply create a flat cover image you want, and with the click of a button in photoshop you can create stunning ebook covers, DVD cases, boxes .. anything. Im sure Dayjob killer has used this software as well to create their covers. Its based on Action Scripts for Photoshop so all you gotta do is click a button and it will convert your flat cover into a 3D Ebook Cover automatically. Pretty handy indeed |

If you want a really simple program that puts out amazing results, go with Box Shot 3D. I have Cover Action Pro and it is good as well...but the simplicity of Box Shot 3D in it's own standalone environment and with all of the templates and features is really superb. It's a uses a true ray tracing engine so the results can be amazingly realistic. Hope this helps, Jack |

I bought Adobe from Ebay for a cheaper price. And bought 1clickcovers.com action script. Works like a charm. Produces high quality ecovers. If you expect to need more ecovers down the road for your online business, you better buy your own software. . |

Hello, I love to use 3DS Max 2009 with VRay as the render engine. It is not hard at all, it depends on what are you going to do -static images, animations to be shown on a Blueray disc, etc...-. If you create (or buy) a 3D model of a Book, CD / DVD case, it doesn't really takes too much time. Just a few clicks to change the image on it. The image to be used in the cover is a material, and it could be a Photoshop PSD or any other (including JPG, but I don't like these since the image compression algorithm damages the sharp edges too much). Anyway, that's what I use. And I can create animations, open the book, fly the camera around, add light, fire, clouds... and this is what I love the most: I can add it to a real photograph and making it look "photorealistic" and in perfect match with the photo's perspectiv and field of view. I know many of our customers don't know about perspective but their minds takes score of those little details, often perceived as a feeling, a feeling (or lack) of quality. Finally, the aliasing is drastically reduced. Those images with "jaws" on the edges also affects the final impression, that's what I believe. I still remember when Microsoft DVD cases were curved, everybody -at that time- wanted one. And, with 3DS Max, it just a matter of a few clicks and dragging points. Just my two cents. Regards, Gaby |

I use the WebGraphics Creator. It's no photoshop but it's easy to learn and can make good-looking stuff. It's cheap too. The box-shot maker is versatile but a little quirky in my experience. http://send.onenetworkdirect.net/z/195/CD111305 pssst. 20% of coupon - laughingdis |

eCoversuite elite looks quite slick. I have Cover Action Pro which produces very professional looking graphics. Web Graphics creator is good too. Ecover software has come a long way in the past 2 years, you are spoiled for choice these days.

But how much can a Photoshop ecover script help if you aren't a graphic designer? Do these scripts includes lots of really cool graphic templates that you can edit so they look amazing like what is shown on their sites? Thanks Steve |

Hi Steve, no, you will either have to create the graphics then turn them into an eCover, or grab some PSD files.

Anyone know about Web Design Software made easy by Laughingbird Software They say it includes about 270 templates. Is it as good as using PS with an ecover action script, or is it kind of funky? I have PS CS4 but don't know how to use it well yet and the stand alone programs I've used create some pretty amateur looking results. Thanks. Steve | |
