WordPress plugin to preserve SEO value for domain name while transferring servers?

Hello Warriors,

I currently have my websites hosted on a shared account at host Gator. Now I want to transfer these on a new account but just realised that my IP address would change in the process. Some of these websites holds top positions for their respective keywords and I don't want to lose the rankings because of this change.

So I just wanted to know if there is some sort of WordPress plug-in, which will preserve the SEO value of these websites even after transferring them to the new server.

I think such a solution should exist, given the fact that websites change servers (during flipping) all the time.

Thanks in advance

I don't think there is such a thing. To "preserve" SEO value just simply retain the original URLs of every page and prevent long down times during the transfer.

Are you sure? I heard something about 301 redirects, I may be wrong and they may be used for entirely different purpose but I do have a feeling that there is a work around to all this.

    Thanks for your answer anyway!

    301 redirect doesn't need a plugin.
301 redirect is used if you are changing domain names or URLs.
You are simply changing servers so it's not required.

I agree with Mark. I wouldn't even worry about it. I've transferred servers before with absolutely no effect on Search engine rankings, and I've done this multiple times. You should be 100% fine.

Your IP address doesn't really factor into the equation. What matters is the authority of your site. People transfer servers all the time.

I don't think this will be an issue for you; if you are going for a reseller account with hostgator then they can probably do the transfer for you.

Wherever you are hosting the domains, I'd recommend that you backup your files first before starting the moving process. Download full backup and take a database backup through cpanel.

Don't switch off your existing hosting accounts until you've got the domains transferred and working on the new hosting. Once you know that they're working ok, that's when to cancel the previous hosting account.

Hope you get the domains moved safely!

IP address has nothing to do with your position on SERP.

It seems you are confusing URLs with IP address.

301 redirect is used for changing/modifying URL.
