Can you have a whole book rewritten as your own?

I found a GREAT book that is not being marketed very well. I KNOW it would sell like crazy if put in front of the right audience which i do know how to do.

Problem is i could never have the time or skills to rewrite it.

are there people who would rewrite a WHOLE book? Also, if i have that done can i sell it as my own?

You should try to contact the author of the book and strike a deal with them to market the book for them. If you simply write (or have someone write) a book that's entirely based off of this one book, that's plagerism.

If this book simply gave you an idea that you would then thoroughly research to create an entirely original product that wouldn't be a problem. If you wanted to have someone else do the project for you, you can hire a ghostwriter to write the book for you. If you use a ghostwriter you can put your name on what ever they write and sell it as your own.

It would not matter, whether you re-wrote it or paid someone to re-write it, it would still be plagiarism.

    IMHO

        Yes.

If your source material for any project whether it's a book or even a simple article consists of just one source that can't be considered research. Basing a work off of somebody else's work is plagiarism.

Getting an idea from someone and then thoroughly researching multiple sources and coming up with your own ideas to create an original product is the way it's supposed to be done.

Contact the author and ask if he or she will sell you the unrestricted private label rights, or failing that come to a mutually beneficial agreement with the author or authors.

That way you can create, or pay someone to create, a product that you can sell without fear of having legal action taken against you.

    Regards,
    Jeff Henshaw.
