Plimus -vs- Clickbank

I'm a Newbie to this world. We signed up for a Plimus account. Should we also use Clickbank? If so, why?

I've been IMing since July, so I'm a newbie too. Your thread is the first I've ever heard of Plimus. Thanks.

As an affiliate or a publisher? Or both?

Publisher or vender. Hence, trying to sell my product through affiliates.

Sorry, "we" is my company the Market Timing Academy. We sell some really cool eCourses on investing in the stock market and real estate market. I'm the founder and looking for advice on how to get this thing moving in the right direction quickly. One of our strategies was to become a vender on Plimus, but wanted to know whether we should also do Clickbank etc. Hope that clears things up.

You can market and sell your product on more than one network and use more than one payment solution. Why limit yourself?

Clickbank is more popular than Plimus and secondly Plimus has complicate system of order placement.

This is a massive decision which will impact the very core of your business, the potential for profit, and how you manage, run and grow your business.... don't just make a snap decision, but spend real time thoroughly researching each one and see what the advantages of each system would be for you.

ClickBank have the marketplace traffic, and you will get extra traffic from marketplace clone websites, and on top of that, affiliate traffic. I'm not a fan of cb though, because there's just so much poor quality products there, I'd guess 1 out of 1000 is gold, everythig else, well... use clickbank for traffic purposes if you are really desperate I guess.

Once upon a time, the Plimus Order Form was a little bit complex... Looks like they are doing really well these days. Good for them. But the fact is, Clickbank is tough to beat.

Plimus originally catered to software developers, if I remember correctly. Looks like they are going after the Clickbank crowd these days.

Either way, or using both Plimus and Clickbank, you should be fine. Careful though, if your Clickbank affiliates know that a site visitor can pay through a different provider, that may turn them off from promoting your stuff.

I've been with Clickbank for eight years and have been happy with them. : )
    Good luck!

Why do you restrict yourself to only one of these? There are many places where you can find affiliates for your products. Put it on paydotcom too.

I'd say first put it on Clickbank as it is really popular and everyone, at some point, would definitely use clickbank for affiliate marketing. It is the best place to sell all digital products and ecourses.

Once you see some sales and success you should scale up and search for other networks to put your product.

      Hope this helps.

So you are saying 'have a separate order page for each network'? Like if traffic is coming from a PayDotCom affiliate, send them to the PayDotCom order page (so the affiliate can get credit for the sale)? Sounds interesting. How would you configure such a thing? PHP?

I would say NO , DON'T DO THIS.... you spread your resources too thinly. You have to learn each system, the different ways of marketing, to recruit affiliates for each... which to focus on.... do this and youll never master any system - not to mention that it looks dodgy to any decent affiliates who know what theyre doing; makes them worry that you will just redirect people to different payment systems, or if anyone searches for your brand the next day they will find a different payment solution - either way the affiliate gets cut out... big affiliates will avoid you because of this.

You won't make 3x as much money as youre on 3 networks, youll potentially make less than just being on one as you lose trust of affiliates, and also never really learn any one market inside out... don't do it...

One of the problems I have with Clickbank is a few of our products are $297, which is above the maximum of $100 they will allow new sellers. Anyway around this?

Not that I know of. If you show a consistent history of sales and low refunds, you can ask for an increase but I don't recall what the details are. You could always call their direct number in Idaho. (You can Google it.) I have found them friendly and professional to work with. If they say no, maybe at least they can lay out the details for you.

              Good luck!

I would say Clickbank everytime. The only advantage for Plimus is that they payout by Payoneer but for traffic I say Clickbank everytime.

Well for higher priced products one advantage Plimus offers you is that their fees are lower. I think on a $297 sale you'll keep about $10 more clean profit with Plimus than with Clickbank. I've used Plimus in a limited capacity and have been happy with the way they operate. Haven't tried their affiliate system yet though.

I think the advantages of Clickbank have already been mentioned in this thread. As for the price limit, I have a CB account that has a $300 limit, but whether you'll get that on a brand new account is debatable. Best to ask at the source as someone suggested.

I sell all my services through Plimus, while I'm not the biggest fan of them, they are 1000% better than paypal.

If I had my own product i'd go with clickbank to sell. I don't like to sell other peoples products via clickbank since I think they are less than honest with hops
