Host Gator existing Clients...

..seemed to be excluded from Fridays and todays promotions offering hosting at reductions 0f 80% and 50%.

Finally Host Gator confirmed that existing customers can use these offers too for additional accounts:

"Current clients can ADD a second account at the discounted rate, however they will need to go ahead and keep both accounts active the entire term."

I'm sure this was due to the outrage expressed by existing customers over the initial ruling. After all, what they're in essence wanting to do is take advantage of the special and pay hostgator an additional sum to have more accounts, so why on earth would they turn down that extra money?

It just didn't make sense to me, and I'm glad that hostgator has finally come to its senses about this.

Their affiliate department finaly answered a precise question I had already asked for the Black Friday deal. This is a quote from their email.
If you shoot me a pm with your email I can forward it to you.

    First invoice means:
if you pay for three years (in advance) you will get it.
Let me know whetther you are successful.

This would be even a better deal... I guess if you just have a small shared hosting or really want something additional...

Chris it means that you get the discount only on your initial purchase. So if you purchase one month's hosting, you start paying full price in the second month.

If you purchase 3 years of hosting up front, you get the discount for the full three years since it's your initial purchase, but after that, you go back to the regular price.

Hope that clarifies it for you.

I have a shared hosting with them... so if I buy a second shared hosting does that take care of the whole "keeping some sites on separate class c ip addresses" mumbo jumbo? I'd like to interlink from time to time, so that seems like a good idea. Any reason why it wouldn't give the benefit I'm thinking it would?
