Avoiding the BS & Clutter

Hi all,

I see so much stuff about making money online, the I'm getting a migrane.

I'm not new to the internet or marketing. I worked for MS R&D, Travelocity and more. I've setup startup companies and I've sold various technologies. Recently someone got me into PPC Arbitrage, which was fun and generated money until the MS & Yahoo Merge.

It opened my eyes to making money online, and I've done so much research for the past few months. CPA offers, PLR, ClickBank and don't even get me started on the amount of Guru like programs...So many of them promise such great things and they all have money back promises...

After doing all of that, my huntch from years of doing business is you have to pick something and start with it. Not read, not try to find a magic bullet. A few points I've noticed from reading.

1) CPA tends to easier and quicker, however CPA sites tend not to add value to the end user, hence they are prime candidates for the known google "Slap". CPA and PPC might not be a long term stragtegy.

2) Building an opt-in list from a sequeeze page seems to be the way almost all good marketers work.

3) Build a model then outsource it.

4) building Sites that sell AND OFFER END USER VALUE are the best long term plans. Sites that provide value and also sell (either affiliate, or your own product) seem to be the one's that aren't going to get slapped and will be sustrainable bussiness.

5) THERE ARE NO MAGIC FORUMLAS to making 1000+ a day, only expereince and a lot of hard work.

6) Research before gettign into a program / niche / plan (This message is what I have learned so far).

It's funny I sat down to write this message to ask a question and it seems I wrote interesting points...funny.

My question is what do you guys think?
Where would you start if you were new into Internet marketing?

I am planning on doing this full time from day one, so as you can see i've done a lot of research now it's time to get my hands dirty. Question is what do you guys think?

Would you start with CPA?
with ClickBank?
With one seqeeze page? With a minisites? Membership site?

Please do share your thoughts with me.
cheers
D.

The methods you mentioned above are all viable, but at the end of the day it all boils down to you.

As you plan to do this full time, ask yourself "what will I be interested in doing everyday?". If not, you tend to lose focus and motivation fast, so before choosing a particular business model make sure its one that you like or have a passion for.

I found no fault in your analysis.

Do what I didn't do... Start with list building in a niche.

Use content creation to keep the interest of your audience.

Look at Affiliate, CPA offers, and your own products to offer your audience, blended between content.

Whatever you do, diversify your revenue streams. Never put all of your eggs in one basket. Make sure that if one thing fails or flies south for the winter, you have something else in the wings to sustain your revenue.

When you start the list building, remember that the consumer market is likely 100x bigger than the Making Money Online niche.

I have made a good living online selling to other marketers, but to be honest, I could have probably had a much larger customer base if I had focused on selling to consumers instead.
