An Oops in my article marketing plan. Please help!

Ok so I was spending time submitting articles to places like ezines, amazine, article alley, article base and buzzle and Go articles only to find out that when I google the title of the article, the articles on amazine arent even indexed. I often don't see go artcle backlinks showing up either. So like what's the point of submitting articles to these places? How am I supposed to get a lot of backlinks if I start just submitting to like the six directories that actually get indexed? Please help. I need to build a lot of backlinks, but I don't want to waste my time.

Just index them yourself! Tweet the articles URL and submit it to Digg. That should get the article indexed in maximum a week.

I do a lot of article marketing but not for back links so much as selling. I am pretty sure they say that only one of the back links is going to be worth anything anyway if it's all the same content... just what I have read over time in IM

All the backlinks you get count. Submitting the same article to multiple directories will get you multiple backlinks. I have about 15-20 different articles directories I submit to. Once the article directory approves the article and it goes live, I throw a few social bookmarks at it to get it indexed. Once indexed, it counts as a backlink to your site.

It's pretty much the same thing as people picking up your article and putting it on their site with the links intact. If you got dinged for duplicate content, those links wouldn't count for anything either.

Bookmarking works pretty good for that kind of thing. I use Bookmarking Demon, but you can use socialmarker.com to do the same thing on a smaller scale.

How long has it been since you submitted the articles? Indexing usually isn't instant, even with article directories. Try bookmarking the articles to Digg, Delicious, Stumble Upon, etc. Also, tweet the articles if you have an account.

Article directories can also help you get backlinks in another way. If your articles are really good, submitting them poses the opportunity for them to be picked up by autobloggers and other marketers looking for fresh content for their sites. The guidelines for most directories are the publishers are to leave the links in the resource box intact, meaning your links could make it to other sites with no extra work on your part.

Be sure that you are putting these articles on your own website and letting them get indexed there before submitting them to directories.

i would put them on my site. however, my site is a niche product website...so these articles would seem kind of irrelevant to put on there, since the site mostly has product descriptions on it.

Are you pinging everything every time you submit? are you bookmarking everything? do you have an rss feed account for the articles you submit? All of these will help with the indexing.

Ask all the questions you want, but in the end they will all be answered by just doing it!... Get to work!
