Need Suggestions For A Failing Site

I've had this particular auto parts site up for 2 years on eBay Partner Network and it was making good money on a monthly basis up until the last 2 months. It now stands at 0 EPC for the last 5 or 6 days. The site lost some traffic a couple months ago, thus the drop in clicks and EPC, but still averages about 42 uniques a day and 79 page loads. Still enough to try and monetize the site another way.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about changing the site from a thorough auto parts listing site to something else that can make money?

Do you like making videos? I've had some success doing how-to videos on YouTube and getting revenue from those. I almost wish I had a website to send all that traffic to, but I don't.

If you could make auto videos that fit in with the theme of your site, I think that would be popular.

Otherwise, throw some articles on there, monetize with AdSense or Infolinks.

    Hope that helps a little.

One good idea is indeed throw some articles on the site for adsense income, and specifically car insurance articles, since the ppc for those keywords is usually VERY high. Do some keyword research for car insurance keywords that you can rank easily for, then write some articles using those keywords.

You should be able to generate a descent income from adsense if you target low hanging/high paying car insurance keywords and can drive organic traffic to those articles.

If you don't like to write, you can even hire someone to write the articles for you. There are some good article writers on this forum. Hope that helps.

I love this idea, I just wish I had the time to make some how-to videos. I'm so swamped as is I just couldn't fit it into my schedule! Is there any other video ideas that wouldn't take as much time to produce?

        IMO.
This is probably what I will do for now... Thanks for the input.

I never thought of it that way. Thank you for helping me think outside the box. I will start incorporating some money saving ideas, tips, guides, etc...

Excellent idea. I'm going to mix in what you said with the other ideas in this thread. I think all of these ideas are great and should help tremendously.

I would suggest you add adsense before the ebay listings, at least until spring/summer. I also have a cars related site, and the ebay earnings go down during the winter period EVERY YEAR. Even tho the traffic as you suggested might have influenced the epc to go down to 0 would say that it is not that, it is just simply that people don't buy spare parts or modify their car during this period of the year, hence the conversion rate is lower and epc crashes big time.

It is not wonder the epc is 0, if there are no sale. What I would do, is add bigger adsense ads before the listings and then maybe remove them in spring time/summer when the sales start to pick up.

Collect leads and sell them to the auto parts places offline.
Adsense because this niche pays well for adsense.
Sell it on flippa for a few thousand and move on.
    Amazon

Hope that gives you a few ideas :-)
